Bellaire community, there has been an increase in the negativity on social media lately especially in regards to threats towards campuses. The district is working with law enforcement to monitor this activity very closely and investigating every lead. Investigations that have been conducted regarding the recent social media activity have not revealed any creditable leads. Rest assured that the campus follows the advice of law enforcement and the district and we take safety very seriously. We conduct advised monthly safety drills to include lockdown drills. The campus recently engaged in our first lockdown drill and I am happy to report that our students and staff reacted swiftly and appropriately earning us an all clear with no findings for our first lockdown drill. Administration gives daily reminders to students on how to safely conduct themselves on campus and our staff enforce the campus safety precautions of locking doors and checking for badges religiously.

Below is the communication that district sent out last week regarding the social media posts:

"We are aware of a post circulating on social media mentioning a potential threat to local school districts. The Harlandale ISD Police Department, in collaboration with local law enforcement and the Southwest Texas Fusion Center, is closely monitoring the situation. At this time, no credible threat has been identified against our district. We take all potential threats seriously and remain vigilant in our efforts to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We will continue to monitor the situation, and will provide an update should any new information arise. Thank you for your continued support and trust."

The HISD Athletic Department would like to recognize your campus at one of our upcoming football games. We have 7 weeks of football left that we'd like to showcase your campus. What does this entail?

• Getting the message out to Bellaire community and Parents
• Teachers and staff get in to the game for free with their badge (any additional visitors can buy a pre-sale ticket from the Athletic office ahead of time or at the gate- $8 adults & $3 kids 6yo and up)
• Arrive to the game on November 1st
• Wear your school spirit shirts
• Your campus will be announced at the game to be proudly recognized before and during the game

• Game time is 7PM at Harlandale Memorial Stadium

We are happy to accept volunteers on campus at any point during the school year. Please contact the front office to receive the paper work needed to get your clearance prior to volunteering on campus.

Shout out to our second graders for having the highest attendance percentage for weeks 2 & 3!

Students with perfect attendance for the entire school year will be entered into a raffle to win a bike! We have a total of six bikes to award so far. All you have to do is show up everyday!
