• Tuesday, August 8th - Noon - 8PM -Registration - Make plans to attend registration at JBE. Please bring back your completed paperwork, which is being mailed today. If you DID NOT complete online registration, please stop by and pick up a registration packet to fill out before you come.

• Thursday, August 17th - Meet the Teacher Night -Make plans to join us at Teacher Meet & Greet on August 17th from 4:45-7:00 (Last name A-F 4:45-5:30, G-O 5:30-6:15, P-Z 6:15-7:00) You can find out who your teacher is and drop off school supplies.

• August 17th - Title 1 PK Parent Orientation - This meeting is mandatory for preschool attendance. Mrs. Ventimiglia will reach out to set up an appointment with you!
  

• August 22nd - 1st Day of School for Students

• September 7th - Picture Day at JBE

• September 8th - WILDCAT FRIDAY

• September 15th - GRAND’s Day

MCR2 Registration is August 8th noon - 8:00 pm at all four buildings. Please make plans to stop by JBE and return the packet that was mailed to you on July 25th. Inside the packet is the information that wasn't available online.

IF you DID NOT do your online registration, you will need to stop by and pick up an additional packet of papers OR plan to complete it on August 8th. We will need this information ASAP, so don't delay. If you have questions, the JBE Office will be Open Daily, Tues.-Fri. beginning August 1st.

Thank you for your help in getting our students accurate information collected. Please be patient as we transition to a new student information system. Your promptness in completing the paperwork would be very much appreciated by our staff.

You can pre-register your child for a backpack that will be pre packed and available for pickup at the pre-registered table the day of the event. In order to be eligible for your backpack of supplies you must complete this form in its entirety. This process only guarantees 1 bag of supplies for each individual child registered.

We are very blessed in our community to have a resource to help our students have access to weekend food. The flier below will be available at both Registration and Teacher Meet & Greet night. If you are in need of food support or would like to make a donation to help a student in need, please grab a form at registration, Teacher Meet & Greet or from any office or nursing staff.

It's that time of summer when you might be starting to think about school supplies. We had some amazing sponsors that donated money to purchase many of the supplies needed for our Jonesburg Elementary students. The remaining items needed for each student are listed on the 23-24 JBE Supply List by grade level.

Please purchase and bring on Teacher Meet & Greet night (8/17/23) or the first day of school (8/22/23)!

We will be sharing “Amazon Teacher Wish Lists” at the end of July/early August for additional group items teachers could use to enhance learning in the classroom.

Thursday, August 17th - Meet the Teacher Night - Make plans to join us at Teacher Meet & Greet on Thursday, August 17th from 4:45-7:00 (Last name A-F 4:45-5:30, G-O 5:30-6:15, P-Z 6:15-7:00) You can find out who your teacher is and drop off school supplies.

This is a reminder that only students & staff will be allowed in the building during morning drop off time. The entrance by the powercat will be open at 7:30. The drop off line is for people to pull up, drop off and drive away. You are welcome to walk your student to the front door. If you wish to get out with your student, please park in a spot to do so. Parking in the drop off line creates confusion and is not safe for our students.

For the first two days of school, parents/guardians WILL BE allowed to walk their student to the classroom. We ask for your cooperation in making this drop off as quick as possible to minimize the number of guests in the building at one time as our students will be learning new procedures. Virtual morning assembly will start at 7:50. When that begins, we ask that all parents/guardians exit the building.

Please help us prepare your student for the first day. If your student does not want to eat school breakfast, they should go directly to their classroom. If your student is eating school breakfast they should go to the cafeteria, get their grab and go breakfast and then go to their classroom to eat.

Students that ride the bus will need to know upon entering the building if they are eating breakfast or not. This will help us get them into the correct line.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! JBE will be hosting GRAND's Day on September 15th. In case you are wondering, GRAND's stands for Grandparents, Relatives, Aunts & uncles, Neighbors, & Devoted caregivers. Watch your student's Friday folder for and RSVP and more information on GRAND's Day. We look forward to shining a light on our GRAND's!

Help us recognize the great things happening at MCR2 by filling out the Wildcat Award Nomination Form when you notice a staff member doing great things!

The district will be recognizing our outstanding staff members again this year with monthly Wildcat Awards, and at the end of the year reception. Please nominate as many of our staff as you wish for a Wildcat Award.

Like last year, Wildcat Awards will be given each month and all nominees will receive their notes at our end of the year celebration!

We have partnered with USAgain to collect clothes and shoes. This company will pay us 2 cents for every pound collected and will plant a tree (somewhere, not on our property) for every full bin. The bins are located on the southwest corner of our building. We will start spreading the word to the community soon and hope it will help the earth and raise a bit of money for our donation account.

We need all families who may qualify to fill out the Free and Reduced Lunch application!

Your Application can help bring funding to MCR2 students. Funding goes directly toward curriculum, teacher salary, family engagement, & more! These funds support student achievement and well-being.

Jonesburg Elementary Meal Reminder

1. We encourage you to fill out a Free & Reduced Meal application to see if you qualify.

2. If you do not qualify and your student eats meals at school the fees are as follows:

1. Full price breakfast - $3.05

2. Full price lunch - $3.45

3. Reduced price breakfast - $0.30

4. Reduced price lunch - $0.40

3. Extra milk and milk break costs $0.50 per student no matter the free and reduced status.

4. Students are not allowed to charge more than $10. If your student owes more than $10 then they will be offered an alternative meal in lieu of the daily lunch choice.

5. Please send in meal money in a labeled envelope. If you are interested, there is an option to pay online through the online SIS portal.

6. Past due balances will be sent home most Friday’s.

7. District phone call reminders for balances under $5 will begin soon. You are welcome to send in money at any time.

8. As always, if you have any questions, please call the Jonesburg Elementary Office. 833-662-6228 ext 4101.

It is important that you have a consistent routine for your child to follow at the end of each day. If you need to make a change to your child’s normal routine you must send a note with your child in the morning.

In an emergency, you may call, but you MUST speak to a secretary before 2pm. Do not leave a message on the school answering service. The answering service is to report absences only, and it is not checked throughout the day. ONLY call in the event of an emergency. A note should be sent if you know in advance of a schedule change.

We will not make any changes after 2pm. Our goal is to get every student safely to their correct destination at the end of each day. We need your help to make sure this happens.

Mark your calendar for the first Wednesday of the month. Frumpy Joe's has generously offered to donate 10% of their sales to Jonesburg Elementary! We are very thankful for the continued support we get from our awesome community! Thank you to Frumpy Joe's for thinking of our students!

Frumpy Joe's has donated over $1000 since they began this program! We appreciate their support!

Don't forget that your student can log onto their Moby Max account from home as well as school. If you need your student's login information, please contact your student's teacher.

This online remediation and practice program is one way that we can continue closing the gap on lost information from last spring.

The Box Tops program has made it easier to collect Box Tops and support your school. Download the Box Tops App, select Jonesburg Elementary (our zip code is 63351), then scan your receipt after you go shopping. No more clipping and saving. You can track our progress on the app. We appreciate your support!
