Principal's Message
Dear Bonsall Elementary School Community,
As we wrap up Staff Appreciation Week, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing PTA and all of our BES families for the incredible love and support you showed our staff this week. From the thoughtful notes and decorations to the meals, treats, and generous acts of kindness, every detail helped make our staff feel truly appreciated and valued.
Our teachers and staff work incredibly hard each day to support, encourage, and care for our students, and this week reminded us just how fortunate we are to be part of such a supportive and caring school community. Your generosity and thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for the partnership we share with our families and PTA.
As we celebrate this weekend, I also want to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers, grandmothers, guardians, and special caregivers of our BES students. Thank you for the love, support, and guidance you provide your children each and every day. We appreciate all that you do and hope you have a wonderful and well-deserved celebration this weekend.
May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to highlight the importance of emotional well-being and to remind our community that mental health is just as important as physical health. At Bonsall Elementary School, we are committed to supporting the social-emotional wellness of all students and helping them build the skills needed to navigate challenges, manage emotions, and develop healthy relationships.
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Ms. Megan, our school counselor, has prepared a variety of activities and resources for students and families to engage with throughout the month. Please see below for ways to participate and support these important conversations at home.
REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR NEW INCOMING STUDENTS. Please see below for information and feel free to pass the information along to incoming BES families.

A reminder about our early check out procedure
Please review the information below regarding checking out your student early
To enhance the learning environment and minimize disruptions, please utilize the following check-out procedure. We understand that students occasionally need to leave school early for appointments or other commitments. However, calling classrooms during instructional time to retrieve students can disrupt the learning process.
Advance Notification:
Please notify the school office at least two hours prior to the desired check-out time.
For example, if your student needs to be checked out at 1:00 PM, please call no later than 11:00 AM.
Information to Provide:
When calling, please provide the following details:
Student’s full name
Student’s teacher
Check-out time
Reason for check-out
Whether the student will return to school that day
If your call is not answered, please leave a detailed voicemail with the above information.
Preparation for Check-Out:
A pass will be delivered to your student’s teacher, allowing them to prepare your child for departure. This ensures the student has their belongings, including backpacks and homework, ready at the designated time.
If the check-out occurs during lunch or recess, the student will still be prepared with the necessary items.
Final Steps at the Office:
The student will arrive at the office with the pass at the designated check-out time.
Parents or guardians must present valid identification and sign the student release pass to complete the check-out process.
Bonsall Elementary Foundation (BEF)
It’s time to kick off our annual Support Our Students Campaign! Our goal is to raise at least $25 per student on every campus. Every dollar donated goes directly to supporting teacher and student needs right here at Bonsall Elementary.
