This event is designed to give you a glimpse into your student's day. They should bring home a blank schedule form for you to fill out together. If they forget, I have one linked below.
You will spend about 8 minutes or so in each class to hear from the teacher and then switch to the next class. As you will see on the form, you will not go to Irish Period or to study centers.
As with all events at Davis, please remember that parking can be a challenge. We will be able to use the Olde Sawmill lots for overflow parking. The main entrance and athletic entrance will be open for entering the building. We look forward to seeing you all there!
2024-25 Yearbooks
Yearbooks have been delivered and will be passed out to students who placed a spring order this week. For families who missed ordering the 2024-25 yearbook, a limited amount are available on a first come, first served basis in the main office. See Mrs. Esker in the main office, to purchase one with cash or check made out to Davis Middle School. The cost of the yearbook is $40.
Tissue Box Challenge
Has your student asked you for a box (or more) of tissues this week? This is why...
Calling All Tissues!
Student Council is sponsoring a tissue drive. Bring in new boxes of tissues to your Irish Period on Monday and Tuesday to earn supplies to build the coolest Irish Spirit Sculpture at the end of next week.
These tissues will help us with all our runny noses come the winter season!

If you haven’t already paid, please make the payment now at https://payschoolscentral.com.

Spring 2026 8th Grade Washington, DC Trip
Incoming 8th Grade Families,
This is just a reminder that it is time to register your student with Prodigy Travel if they will be joining the Washington, DC trip in May. We have urged students who are interested to work to help with the cost of the trip...it may help them appreciate it that much more! Mowing, mulching or pulling weeds, raking leaves, and shoveling snow in the winter in the neighborhood are all good ways to get started.
Here is the link to all of the DC information including the Prodigy website to create an account, register for the trip, and make payments.
For families who were unable to attend the informational meeting last spring, we will be having another informational meeting on October 1 at 7:30PM in the DMS Commons.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Ms. Wilhelm, 8th grade team lead and DC advisor.

Back to School Information
Breakfast/Lunch Information
Part of the back to school routine is making sure that your student has a current Pay Schools account for breakfast and lunch. You can also fill out the Free and Reduced Meal Application for your students. Apply online through PaySchools Central or use one of our printable forms (translated in multiple languages) to submit your information.
Meal Prices Add Up! Apply Now for Free/Reduced School Meals
Check a back-to-school box off your list by going ahead and filling out the Free and Reduced Meal Application for your students. Easily apply online through PaySchools Central.
Why apply?
It can lower or waive technology fees.
It connects families to additional resources and support.
It ensures your student gets a healthy meal at school every day.
It helps reduce or prevent meal account debt, which carries over from year to year.
Note: Students with negative meal account balances will receive a standard school meal, but they won’t be able to purchase extra (“a la carte”) items.
The Food Services team works closely with school principals to notify families and help manage account balances. Once a student’s meal charges reach $25 or more, you’ll receive automated phone calls as a reminder to add funds. Applying for Free & Reduced Meals is the best way to avoid accumulating a growing balance.
Counseling Corner
Onyx -- the Davis Support Pup
This year, several times a quarter, we will have the opportunity to have a support dog at Davis. Onyx is owned by counselor, Shanley O'Neil. Onyx is trained and very well behaved. He loves to receive lots of pets and has a knack of helping to calm and soothe when folks are feeling a bit anxious or upset. We are excited to have this opportunity for some of our students at Davis!
When we have a support dog in the building, he will always be on leash and with his handler when not in the main office area.
If you have any questions about the support dog at DMS, please reach out to Jaime (stewart_jaime@dublinschools.net) or Shanley (oneil_shanley@dublinschools.net). If you would like to give your student permission to visit with Onyx when when he is at school, please complete the questions below. You only need to fill this out if you would like your student to have this opportunity. If you do not want your student to interact with Onyx, please do not fill out the form below and we will know not to allow him to interact with your student in the office area. Thank you!
Proof of Residency
A friendly reminder that if you lease a home or an apartment that you are required to provide an updated copy of your lease and utility bill each year. Our Guidance Secretary Mrs. Frazee may be reaching out to request a copy if we have not gotten one yet from you. You can also email a copy to her at Frazee_Laura@DublinSchools.net.
Moving?
If you are moving please contact our Guidance Secretary, Laura Frazee, at frazee_laura@dublinschools.net or 614-718-8663. She will be able to follow up with you regarding next steps and can help get your student's bussing updated. Thank you!
