Dear Senior & Family,
As we prepare for this year’s graduation ceremony, we are excited to introduce a new process to help ensure that every student’s name is pronounced correctly when they are recognized on stage. Names matter, and we want your big moment to feel personal and accurate.
This year, our school will use NameCheck, an AI-powered name pronunciation tool, to support correct name announcements during the ceremony.
Your participation is essential. If you do not review and submit your pronunciation by April 12th, the NameCheck software or ceremony announcer may have to rely on a default or best-guess pronunciation.
Please use this click sheet to assist you with the process of checking name pronunciation.
- Please keep in mind that you can only change the way the name is spelled so that it is pronounced correctly. All names must remain the legal student's name.
- Each campus will check for any changes to students’ names. If the legal name for a student is adjusted, the student will receive an email notifying them that the system has been reset and they must keep the legal name.
We appreciate the support of parents and guardians in encouraging their students to complete the NameCheck recording by the April 12th deadline.
We believe this process will help make graduation a smooth, memorable, and respectful celebration for every member of the Class of 2026. If you have any questions or need assistance using NameCheck, please contact Robert Eppler at Robert.Eppler@pisd.edu.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us honor you and your classmates in the best possible way. We look forward to celebrating your achievement at graduation.
