Message from Principal Nicole Pease

Dear DCS families, it was with great joy and excitement that we welcomed students back into school! Despite the torrential rain and lightning, the day started off wonderfully. This year is simply going to be the best!

You should all be very proud parents, as your students have each demonstrated caring, respectful, and kind behavior toward each other and the staff.

We are looking forward to the long weekend to catch up on rest! Have a wonderful day!

Please reach out if you have any questions, Nicole

Information from Robin Gregg, School Counselor

From Ms Gregg, School Counselor

Greetings from Ms. Gregg, School Counselor

Hello, DCS Families. Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! It is so good to return to

DCS again and to see and connect/re-connect with our wonderful students and with

you. This year I will again be at DCS on Thursdays, and occasionally at other times as

well. This year, as in the past, the school counseling program at DCS will include the

following:

 weekly classroom counseling lessons in each classroom on topics such as

listening; empathy and perspective-taking; dealing with strong feelings;

and problem-solving

 small group sessions as needed, focused on social skills, friendship, family

changes, managing worries/anxiety and other topics

 short-term individual counseling with students as needed, focused on problem-

solving, friendship, dealing with conflict, coping skills and other topics

 family communication and support as appropriate

 information and resource sharing with students and their families including

referrals to regional counseling centers or individual therapists

 collaboration and communication with community-based agencies and groups

 crisis support

 collaboration with all DCS staff members to support all of our students

I look forward to working with your child(ren) and with you this year and welcome any

questions or concerns. DCS 603 563-8332 rgregg@conval.edu

DCS PTO

The DCS PTO needs new members! If you have interest in either learning more about Board positions or volunteer opportunities, please let me know. The PTO has supported so many different activities and events that have enriched the learning for our students. Thank you!

After school Library programming update

The Dublin Town Library is currently in the process of hiring a new director, they are planning on continuing the after school programs as soon as they are able. Stay tuned and we will let you know when that will begin.

DCS collects aluminum can tabs for "Tabs for Taylor"

Taylor is 15 years old and has been a patient at Shriners Hospital since birth. She has benefitted greatly by receiving prosthetics and her family gives back by collecting can tabs. The can tabs go to purchasing items for patient care. Taylor is the niece of Sarah Precourt (Mrs. Hopkin's daughter).

DCS has been collecting tabs for years and countless students and their families have contributed to this effort. Please send in any tabs from aliminum cans and we will add them to the collection. Thank you!
