Principal's Post- Parent/Teacher Conferences

Hello ELC/PC Families,

We are asking all parents/guardians to sign-up for a parent teacher conference with your child's teacher. Staff are offering November 12 & 14 evening time slots for conferences. If the dates/times proposed do not work for you, please contact your child's teacher to see if there is an alternative day/time for you to meet. We are excited to share your child's strengths along with ways we would like to partner with you to support your child. We would love to have 100% participation!

If you would like to set up a conference with a Related Arts or Student Services Team member during Parent-Teacher Conferences, please click this LINK to access their calendars and sign-up for an appointment. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the PC Office at 437-7506.

With Viking Pride,

Rachael Johnson, Principal

PTO News

We are happy to announce that with the help of volunteers we will be providing childcare during parent teacher conferences in the cafeteria at the PC and IC. If you are an ELC parent you are welcome to bring you kiddos to the PC.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help make this a successful offering we hope to provide for years to come. Please sign up if you can. We are just looking for an hour of your time at either location.

Please note that we will not be providing or allowing any food offerings during care to avoid allergens and we will not be changing any diapers. We anticipate drop offs with us not lasting any longer than half an hour as it is just for parents to attend their child's teacher conference.

Can't volunteer time but would like to show teachers your gratitude? We have a snack and dessert sign up sheet that you could sign up for to supplement the Milio's subs PTO will be providing each night!

Thank you all for your contributions! Without you we could not do what we do for the kiddos and teachers!!

Second Grade Music Concert and Gallery Walk

We are so excited for our upcoming 2nd Grade Music Concert! The concert will take place Friday, November 15 starting at 2:00 PM at the Primary Center. Please note that our concert will take place in the Primary Center gymnasium.

Back by popular demand, in conjunction with the 2nd grade concert, we will be hosting a 2nd grade art gallery walk! There will be a map printed on the back of your concert program that will guide your art gallery tour. After the concert, you may go pick up your child from their classroom and do the gallery walk together. With this event taking place near the end of our school day, we simply ask that you complete your gallery walk no later than 2:50 PM so that we can safely clear the hallways to get our students ready for dismissal.

We will be unlocking the north, south, and west Primary Center gymnasium doors starting at 1:30 PM. Guests will not be permitted into the building before 1:30 PM. We are encouraging families to park on Academy St. and 2nd St. There will only be minimal parking available in the PC lot and down in the ELC lot.

In our gymnasium, we will have bleacher and chair seating. We ask that the chair seating be reserved for visitors with mobility limitations, parents with small children, and as overflow seating once the bleachers are full.

At the end of the concert, teachers will be taking their students back to their classrooms. Parents will be dismissed by class to check in with the classroom teacher and pick up their child and then complete the art gallery walk.

The children are very excited about performing for us, and sharing their artwork! Thank you for being a part of this event. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Vajda, Music Teacher, Ms. Godfrey, Art Teacher & Mrs. Johnson, Principal
