St Anthony's School community works collaboratively to teach and live the values of Christ. While respecting tradition, and to meet the demands of a rapidly changing society, it strives to educate our children to their full potential.

Principal's Message Principal's Message

A simple prayer to start our new school year:

Go before us, O Lord, in this our sacrifice of prayer and praise.

Grant that what we say with our lips, we may believe in our hearts;

and that what we believe in our hearts, we may practise in our daily lives.

We make this prayer through Christ, our Lord. Amen

Parents, carers, children and school staff

Welcome to the new school year. It was wonderful to see all the smiling faces yesterday and to hear stories from children who had great holidays but were also pleased to be coming to school. Equally, it was lovely to see parents smiling as they brought the children into school and then went to have a quiet, uninterrupted coffee down the road.

Along with 19 students new to the school, we welcome Ms Leanne Dale (3B), Ms Emily Matta (PPB), Ms Lauren Thompson (4B) and Ms Grace Wilkinson (5G – Thursdays) to the teaching staff and Ms Chloe Clements and Ms Kayla Smith to the EA staff.

Please join us on Friday morning from 7.45am for our Welcome Breakfast and, if you can spare the time, stay and celebrate mass with us at 9am in the Church. Sabine Winton will be at our Welcome Breakfast. With the election coming up, please feel free to have a chat with her!

School Hours

Children are supervised from 8.10am to 3.15pm each day. Children are not to be dropped off before 8.10am unless they are participating in OSH Club, running club (Mondays only) or tennis coaching.

If your child is absent from school, it is a legal requirement that the school be notified by a parent/carer. Students who are late to school, leaving during the day for appointments or leaving early at the end of the day must be signed in/out through the front office.

School Day for Pupils

  • 8.25am class doors open
  • 8.35am classes commence
  • 10.35am morning recess
  • 10.50am classes resume
  • 12.30pm lunch
  • 1.10pm classes resume
  • 2.55pm dismissal

2025 School Uniform

It is wonderful to see all the students in the new school uniform. I recognise that the uniform shop has been exceedingly busy in recent weeks and that some parents have not been able to get the navy shorts for the boys. Please ensure all students are wearing the correct uniform and shoes next week.

We ask that parents also abide by the footwear, jewellery and hair expectations of the school. If you are unsure, the procedure can be located on the school website: School-Uniform-Procedure-2025.pdf The procedure contains illustrations of acceptable and non-acceptable shoes and hair styles.

Hot Weather

It seems that the start of each new school year is hotter than the last. It is essential that the students bring a water bottle (water only) to school each day to remain hydrated. Taps are located around the school so students can refill their bottles as needed.

It is a good idea for children to have put on sunscreen at home before coming to school. Sunscreen is available in each classroom for ‘top-ups’. All children need to have their hats at school each day. Hats are worn at recess time, lunch time and whenever the children are at fitness and PE lessons.

Icy Poles

In view of its popularity last term and as the weather is still very hot, icy poles will again be on sale this term. They will be available at lunch time on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week in Term 1.

The cost remains at 50c for a half and $1 for two halves. The money will go to both Caritas and to support our local St Vincent de Paul Society.

Parent Information Meetings

These meetings are a perfect opportunity to learn about what is happening and expectations in your child/ren’s classrooms. It is always difficult to arrange times that best suit most parents. Parent Information evening will be on Tuesday, 11th February.

If you cannot attend, please ensure that you read any information that is sent home or posted on your child’s SeeSaw page.

School Fees

2025 school fee accounts will be sent out soon. Any outstanding fees from 2024 will be added to this year’s accounts. Please ensure all outstanding fees from 2024 are paid immediately, and 2025 fees paid off by the end of Term 3 this year. If you are experiencing difficulty paying your fees please make an appointment to meet with the Principal to discuss alternate arrangements.

Parents and carers who hold Health Care Cards and Pension Concession Cards may be entitled to discounted school fees. A copy of your card must be provided each year even if the card is still valid. A HHC discount will not be included on your fees account unless you provide a copy of your card again this year.

God Bless

School Code of Conduct School Code of Conduct

A reminder that every member of the St Anthony’s School community must behave in the manner described in our Code of Conduct.

Our Code is like the 40km/h speed limit outside our school in the mornings and afternoons. It defines behaviours that keep our students safe: at school, and elsewhere. Children and young people surrounded by adult and peer behaviours as outlined in the Code are more likely to recognise and choose healthy relationships for themselves.

Conduct Statements

  1. You act safely and competently.
  2. You give priority to students’ safety and well-being in all your behaviour and decision making.
  3. You act in accordance with the values of the Gospel as defined in the Code of Ethical Conduct.
  4. You conduct yourself in accordance with laws, agreements, policies and standards relevant to your relationship with the school community.
  5. You respect the dignity, culture, values and beliefs of each member of the school community.
  6. You treat personal information about members of the school community as private and confidential.
  7. You give impartial, honest and accurate information about the education, safety and well-being of students.
  8. You support all members of the school community in making informed decisions about students.
  9. You promote and preserve the trust and privilege inherent in your relationship with all members of the school community.
  10. You maintain and build on the community’s trust and confidence in Catholic schools and the Church.
  11. You act reflectively and ethically.
  12. You allow students to have a voice in their education, safety and well-being

The Code describes the minimum requirements expected of all members of our community and that all in our community conduct themselves personally and professionally in a way that maintains public trust and confidence in our school and the Church. While mandatory language such as ‘must’, ‘shall’ and ‘will’ is not used throughout the Code, there is a presumption the conduct described is mandatory and therefore not optional.

Student and Family Wellbeing Student and Family Wellbeing

Dear Parents and Carers

My name is Ann Peart and I am the social worker at St Anthony's School. I hope your child/children settle into the new school year. It is very normal for children to experience mixed emotions in the first days and weeks. Parents can ease fears and anxieties by helping children to name their feelings, validate how they feel while remaining positive that they will overcome them as they get to know their teacher, settle into new routines and develop friendships.

I work at St Anthony's School on Tuesday and Wednesday each week. This is a free, confidential service for students and families in our school community. From time to time children face challenges and changes in their lives that can affect their emotions, behaviour, friendships and learning. My role is to provide support during tumultuous times. This support is given through counselling, or by referring to appropriate professionals in the community.

If at any time during the year you have concerns about your child, please discuss this with their class teacher or by contacting me directly by email ann.peart@cewa.edu.au As I work at another school, please let me know your child's name, year level and that they attend St Anthony's School as well as your contact number.

With best wishes for the year ahead.

Kind regards

Ann Peart
