Five Good Things in Spring
October 18, 2026
A huge shout-out to the Spring High School Band for taking third place overall at the US Bands North Houston Regional Competition. The band took the field at Planet Ford Stadium last weekend, competing against 15 high school bands from throughout the region. They marched away with an overall score of 82.9.
🎉Congratulations once again to the Spring High School Band on this great accomplishment.🎉
Yes, it’s homecoming season, and the Westfield HS Mustangs celebrated with style. The night was filled with excitement as the Mustang football team took the field to bring home another win, and made it look all too easy.
Between the exciting game and the crowning of the homecoming king and queen, the energy was electrifying. The sounds of the Big Red Band and cheering fans filled the stadium, making it a night to remember.
Congratulations to Malik Ellis, homecoming king, and Jessica Ramirez, homecoming queen!👑
¡Viva el Mariachi!🎶
The Bailey MS mariachi group, Mariachi Bucaneros de Oro, were busy making the rounds, sharing music, culture, and school spirit. The Buccaneers made stops at Ponderosa ES and Burchett ES before heading back to Bailey MS for their final performance at Bailey's own Hispanic Heritage PVA Showcase, ¡Viva Bailey!
Each performance was a huge success, providing the Bucaneros the opportunity to share their culture and showcase their inspirational talent.
¡Que Viva la Música!
✨The celebrations continue! Spring ISD Board President Justine Durant led a special recognition effort alongside Superintendent Dr. Kregg Cuellar and Chief of Staff Dr. LaTracy Harris to celebrate principals whose campuses earned A or B ratings in the 2026 TEA accountability ratings.
Together, they officially delivered custom banners to each campus, recognizing the hard work and dedication behind these outstanding achievements.
Congratulations to our A- and B-rated campuses! The New Spring ISD is shining brighter than ever! ✨
Celebrating culture and pride, the little Armadillos over at Reynolds ES took to the hallways for the Hispanic Heritage Month Parade. With colorful flags and costumes to represent the diversity of Hispanic Culture, the Reynolds family had an awesome time honoring the roots of what makes the Spring ISD community so special. This was a fantastic opportunity for the students to learn about different cultures and their history while having fun at the same time.
Awesome job, Armadillos!💃
Westfield HS has plenty to cheer about this week. The Westfield Cheer Team has been selected as the Dave Campbell and Dunkin’ Donuts Cheer Team of the Week. This recognition celebrates all the hard work and dedication of our Lady Mustangs, as well as the school pride and energy they bring to every event.
Congratulations on a job well done.
Westfield, Westfield, say it loud! Westfield, Westfield, we’re so proud!
