Partnering for Success: Respecting Teacher Time
Strong communication between home and school is the foundation of student success. To ensure teachers can give your concerns the focused attention they deserve, we ask that families please schedule a specific time for conversations, phone calls, or meetings rather than stopping by during instruction or dismissal.
Teachers often have busy schedules—planning lessons, supporting students, and attending meetings—outside of classroom hours. By emailing to schedule an appointment, you allow them to prepare for a productive discussion about your child, ensuring their time (and yours) is respected.
- Email is best: Send a quick note to initiate a conversation.
- Be specific: Briefly outline what you'd like to discuss so they can gather necessary info.
- Give lead time: Request meetings at least 24–48 hours in advance.
Thank you for being a respectful partner in your child's education!

Dean's Message
Safety Tips:
Please help us keep all students safe by driving slowly in the pick-up and drop-off lanes. These areas are busy with children walking between cars, and a slower pace makes a big difference.
We kindly ask that phones are put away when driving or crossing the crosswalk. Staying focused helps everyone see and respond to what’s happening around them.

A Little Note Goes a Long Way!
Extended Drop-off Deadline: April 1st
We still need about 250 more handwritten notes of encouragement for our 3rd–8th grade students during CMAS testing! Notes are randomly distributed to classrooms, so every student gets a little extra support on test day. Please drop off your note(s) at the front office by April 1st. Thank you!
We are looking for your help to spread some encouragement during CMAS testing! We are asking families to handwrite a short note of encouragement, inspiration, or pride to our 3rd through 8th grade students as they tackle their CMAS assessments.
Here's the fun part: you won't be writing to your own child! All letters will be collected and randomly distributed to testing classrooms, so every student has a chance to receive a warm, heartfelt message from someone in our school community.
Your note doesn't have to be long, just a few sentences reminding a kid that they are capable, prepared, and amazing. Think things like "You've got this!", "We are so proud of you!", or "Believe in yourself, you are smarter than you know!" And feel free to write more than one, because the more notes we have, the more students we can reach!
Please drop off your handwritten note (or notes!) to the front office by March 27th. Every student deserves to feel supported, and your words just might make all the difference on test day.
Thank you for helping us lift our students up!
8th Grade Dance Committee
We would like to get a committee of volunteer 8th grade families to help plan the 8th grade dance coming up on May 14th 2026. If you are interested in volunteering for this committee, please reach out to Ms. Minnie at mmpescador@aurorak12.org.
Dates to Put Down
-April 7th PTA Meeting 6-7
-April 23rd Cold Stone night!
A HUGE Thank You!
As a school, we earned $2757 with our Butter Braid fundraiser which we will vote on how to assign the funds at our next meeting. Thank You to everyone that helped get us there!
Also, we earned $93 from our milk caps from Longmont Dairy! Thank you for bringing them in and helping us out
Lastly, we earned $34.52 for the U’SAGAIN bin that lives in the parking lot. If there’s usable clothing you would like to pass along, put it in a bag and drop it off! We earn money while you clean out your closet! ***This IS NOT a catch all so please be mindful of items***
Who’s Interested?
Our PTA Board is coming to the end of our two-year term and we are ready to help get a new board up and running! Have you wondered how you can impact the school? Have you enjoyed the community that’s being created and want to invest in it’s growth? Please reach out and ask about our positions and see if one is a good fit for you!
