Mill Valley Weekly
Thursday, October 22nd, 2026
Hello Mill Valley Families,
We have some exciting news to share! U.S. News & World Report just ranked Mill Valley #4 out of 1,989 elementary schools in Wisconsin!
This incredible honor is a direct result of our dedicated staff, our hard-working students, and the wonderful support from our entire school community. Success like this happens when we all work together, and we are so grateful for your partnership in making Mill Valley such an extraordinary place to learn and grow.
Thank you for being such a vital part of our school family!
In Partnership,
Allyce Harris
Mill Valley Principal
PAW PRINT WINNERS!
π Library News π
Our students are taking part in an exciting nationwide collaborative art project! Each student is coloring a picture of our state animal, the badger, which will all be assembled into a giant poster.
Once complete, we will cut our poster into 10 puzzle pieces and mail them to participating schools across the country. In return, weβll receive poster pieces from other schools to assemble our own mystery puzzle!
Students will track each school's location on a map in the library and explore all the creative artwork coming in from around the U.S. Keep an eye out for updates on our finished map!
π» Mill Valley Halloween Parade π
Friday, October 30th
We are excited to continue our Halloween parade tradition this year! To make the parade easier for families to attend, our parade will take place outdoors around the Mill Valley blacktop area. This will allow families to enjoy the parade without needing to enter the building or check in through the office.
Families are invited to stand along the designated parade route outside the school to watch students and staff parade by in their costumes (SEE MAP BELOW). The parade will begin at 2:15pm starting with kindergarten. Students will exit the building with their classes follow the parade route and then return inside with their teachers.
Students going home early after the parade will follow the Halloween Dismissal Plan (see below).
π Reminders about costumes:
No scary or violent costumes
No weapons
No make-up or colored hair
Bring your costume to change into right before the parade starts (do not wear costumes to school)
A Message from our Distric Nurse
As a reminder, per our district policy (Administration of Medications ag5330), if your child requires prescription medication during school hours, please follow our school medication policy:
A parent or guardian must bring all medications directly to the school health office or staff. Students are not allowed to transport medications to or from school themselves.
All medications must be in original, pharmacy labeled containers
Each medication requires a signed doctorβs order before we can administer it.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe!
We often see an increase in head lice in the winter months.
