Blazer Business

Dear Trail Blazer Community
Let me share with you the main items you need to know to help your student to be successful on the first day of school.
First Day of School: August 9th (A-Day)
Our teachers returned to campus last week and have been working hard preparing to welcome students back into their classrooms. We are looking forward to a great 2023-2024 school year and cannot wait to welcome our students on Wednesday!
Student Pick Up and Drop off
Click here to access the FISD Transportation site which includes bus and route information.
Staff will be helping students find their bus after school.
Click here for the LT Parking and Traffic Flow Map. The front entrance will be the only point of entry during drop off. This is a change from last year. Students dropped off at the north side of the building should walk around to the front entrance.
Parents can help out the traffic flow by following the map and being patient with one another. Once all parents learn the routine things will go much more smoothly.
Dropping off your student in the parking lot adds to the congestion entering and exiting our lot. Keep all students safe by following the map.
Here is the link to the Temporary Busing to Overflow Campus (Independence High School). There will be two buses- Bus # 32 & 217. The buses will wait in the bus lane until 8:40 and then depart for IHS. The same buses will pick up at IHS north side bus lane and return students to LTHS. We anticipate that students will be dropped off at or around 4:45 pm.
Morning Arrival
We open the front doors daily by 8:20am and the athletic entrance doors by 8:35am, students will no longer be allowed to enter through the doors in the Fine Arts wing. After 9am, the front door will be the only entrance. Until 8:30 students are asked to wait in the cafeteria, and asked to be seated at the cafeteria tables as they wait. After 8:30 students may continue to wait in the cafeteria, attend tutorials with a teacher, or utilize the resources available in the library. Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria until 8:50am.
Students arriving after 9:00 will need to use the doorbell; upperclassmen will need to show their school IDs and freshman students will inform the receptionist of their ID number. Once their IDs have been verified they will be allowed to enter the building.
Student Parking & Parking Permits
Student parking lots are on the south side, and northeast side of the building (outside the band hall and by the football field).
Students who commute during the day to Collin or to the CTE will be required to enter the building through the front entrance and show their ID utilizing the front door bell system. All student drivers utilizing the school parking lots are required to purchase a parking sticker for the 2023-2024 school year.
Your student may purchase a parking sticker by completing the Parking Permit Form. Please submit payment by visiting onlineschoolfees.com and submitting the required documents. Your student may then pick up the parking sticker in the Front Office with the appropriate ID. Failure to purchase a permit may result in extra fines and/or loss of parking privileges. If students park in designated staff or visitor parking places they will be stickered and required to move their car during the school day.
Schedules
Check HAC to see where your 1A class is (Q1 & Q2 is the same as 1st semester). We will have staff in the hallway directing traffic and helping students find their classes.
All students who have completed the registration and POR process will get a printed copy of their schedule on Gold paper in 1st period. This is your entrance to the rest of your classes. For those of you off campus 1st period (CTEC) or with late arrival, you’ll pick up your schedule in the cafeteria when you get to campus. Students who cannot see their schedules in HAC should report to the cafeteria.
**The only students who have a class at the district's Career & Technology Education Center are those who see "@CTEC" at the end of the course description printed on the schedule and a room number starting with "X"; Further details for those students is available in the schedule release information linked above.
Student schedules will not be released if they are on the Hold List for not returning items from the 2022-2023 school year such as chromebooks, athletic equipment, textbooks, library books, etc. If you are on the hold list for an item from the 2022-2023 school year, please reach out to your student’s Assistant Principal to make arrangements to return the item prior to 8/09/23.
April 14th was the deadline to request schedule changes, as stated in the FISD Academic Guide; the only exceptions are for band, choir, orchestra, athletics, debate, drill team, color guard & academic decathlon. Students with an allowable change request need to come by the Counseling Office; before school, after school, or during passing period, to receive a Schedule Change Form.
**Students will not be permitted to attend classes on the first day of school without a complete online registration, a valid proof of residence on file, and a CLEAR from the 2022-2023 Hold List.

We will continue to leverage our campus cell phone policy in an effort to minimize distractions, enhance student learning and teach students when cell phones can be appropriately utilized for school and personal use. Video Door Monitoring
Beginning on the first day of school, August 9th all visitors to Lebanon Trail HS will use the newly installed video door monitor to request access to the building or to check a student out. The front door will be monitored by LT staff before and after school. During the day, the front door, along with every exterior door will be locked. Students must present a student ID to enter school during the day and parents will present a driver’s license at the door monitor. We appreciate your patience and grace as we work through this new process in an effort to keep our students and staff safe. Students will receive consequences for opening exterior doors to allow entry for others. This is considered a school safety violation.
Door Monitor Instructions:
Press the ring bell and wait for a response;
The ring will light up and you will hear a doorbell chime.
There may be a pause before you receive a response.
When you hear a response:
Hold your ID close to the camera
State your reason for visiting Lebanon Trail HS
If you are picking up a student:
If your driver’s license has previously been scanned, please wait outside or in your vehicle for your student.
You will be asked to enter the office if your driver’s license has not been scanned.
Report your student’s absence using the Report an Absence feature on the LTHS website or by replying to the attendance email.
** Lebanon Trail HS staff cannot accept items dropped off for students.
