Principal's Message
KJSH recently had new security cameras installed around our main entrance at Door 1. The new cameras are part of the ongoing efforts to help KJSH be a safe and secure building. Our School Engagement Officer from the Tarian Group has been active at KJSH for several years now. The officer on-duty each day will help monitor the security cameras and have access to pull footage from the cameras located inside Door 1 and the surrounding halls when needed. Our District Technology Services team helped install these cameras in a matter of a few days. This project was completed much faster than the timeline we predicted thanks to their dedication and hard work.
We will continue to work with our District Director of School Culture Dina Ferraraccio to address school safety and security to help maintain the the environment of our school. We work closely together to determine building needs and address them in a timely manner.
Building Community at Kenmore Junior Senior High School
Kenmore Junior Senior High School is a unique, multi-program building, with many different programs and communities coming together under one roof. While each program has its own identity and strengths, we want to make sure our students and staff have plenty of opportunities to connect, learn from one another, and celebrate being part of the same school community.
This year, the PBIS/Foundations team is working to bring our programs together through a series of fun, inclusive events throughout the school year. Our goal is to create opportunities for students and staff to build relationships, try new activities, and make memories together.
We kicked off the year with our Fun Friday Field Day during the first week of school. Students and staff gathered at Longfellow and enjoyed a variety of activities, including crafts, refreshments, yard games, and chalk art. It was a wonderful way to start the year by coming together and having fun!
Our next event will be our Fall Fest in October. The KJSH community can look forward to a flag football game, where students are welcome to come cheer on the players, as well as a salsa-making station featuring fresh produce from our PHAM garden. We will also have guacamole, chips and refreshments provided with the help of Food Services, and of course, for the creatively inclined, another fun craft activity.
We are excited to continue offering opportunities for our school community to come together throughout the year. Future events may include a holiday cookie competition, a whole-building kickball game, and a March Madness basketball event.
We look forward to continuing to build connections, celebrate our students and staff, and create a welcoming sense of community across all of the programs at Kenmore Junior Senior High School!

Fall Into Healthy Habits!
The leaves are changing, the weather is getting cooler, and fall is officially here! Let’s make this month all about staying healthy, happy, and ready to learn.
Keep Those Germs Away!
- Wash your hands often with soap and water.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow.
- Avoid sharing drinks, food, or personal items.
Stay Up To Date!
Make sure your physical exams and immunizations are up to date. If you have an updated physical or medical information, please provide it to the Health Office.
- All 7th, 9th, and 11th graders are required by NYS law to have a current physical on file at school. Anything after 9/1/25 is considered current.
Cooler Weather Is Here!
October mornings can be chilly! Bring a jacket or sweatshirt so you’re prepared for changing temperatures.
We’re Here to Help!
