Tambark Creek Elementary Principal Newsletter

From the Principal’s Desk – June 2026

Dear Tambark Creek Families,

We are off to a great start this June and have many exciting events packed into our final two weeks of school. Our fifth-grade students are currently enjoying time at Camp Killoqua and will return on Wednesday afternoon. We have also successfully completed the Smarter Balanced Assessments for students in grades 3, 4, and 5.

As we celebrate the end of another wonderful school year, we look forward to several special events, including our annual Field Day on June 11 and our Fifth Grade Moving-Up Ceremony on June 10. These are always memorable occasions for our students and staff.

Please remember that the last day of school is June 15, with an early dismissal at 1:00 p.m.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of our volunteers. Whether you supported classrooms, attended field trips, helped at school events, or contributed behind the scenes, your time and dedication made a meaningful difference for our students and staff. We truly appreciate your partnership.

Report cards will be sent home on June 12. At this time, the district has not yet announced the start date for the 2026–2027 school year. That information will be shared in July once negotiations have been finalized.

As the school year comes to a close, I wish each of you a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer filled with special family moments and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for your continued support of Tambark Creek Elementary. It is a privilege to serve this amazing community.

Warm regards,

Mrs. O'Connor-Weaver

SCHOOL COUNSELOR CORNER

Celebrating Growth and Looking Ahead

As we approach the end of another school year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the growth we've witnessed in our students. From navigating new friendships to building confidence in the classroom, your children have shown resilience, kindness, and determination.

This time of year naturally brings mixed emotions—excitement about summer adventures mixed with the bittersweet feeling of saying goodbye to teachers and friends. If your student is experiencing big feelings, that's completely normal! Here are a few ways you can support them at home:

  • Celebrate their accomplishments, big and small
  • Create a summer routine that balances fun with structure
  • Stay connected with friends through playdates, calls, or messages
  • Talk about any worries about next year—we're here to help!

Wishing you and your families a great summer. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall!

Warmly,
Shari Thompson & Nicole Eells

Attendance!

Dear TCE Families,

We look forward to seeing all our Mountain Lion's faces in school each day. With that being said, every minute of school time is valuable for your student's educational and social growth.

  • Please make sure your kids are on time to line up with their class no later than 9:05 AM. Important social emotional and transitioning time occurs in the first few minutes of the day.
  • Please schedule travel during school breaks. Travel should not occur on days when school is in session.
  • Dismissal is 3:30 PM (2:15 on Fridays). Please be on time for pick-up, as there is no supervision after this time.

Why regular, on-time attendance is important:

1. Regular attendance allows children to benefit from participating in quality early education.

2. A habit of attendance IS a school readiness skill.

3. Good attendance reflects strong parent engagement.
