A Special Message from Heather Reid
How Can I Help?
Hi! My name is Heather Reid. Many of you know me as the librarian for Port Gardner and Sequoia High School. But did you know that I am also the KIT/Student Support Advocate for both schools as well? This means that I am here for any students and their families/caregivers who need support that is beyond their educational needs. This includes but is not limited to:
- Food (Both fresh and pre-packaged items)
- Clothing (From socks and shoes to pants and everything in between)
- Toiletries (Shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene, etc.)
- Outerwear (Hats, gloves, coats, etc.)
If you have needs that are greater than above, there are other options I can help with as well. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or would like help.
Don’t need support but would like to help others? I am attaching our Amazon Wishlist, we are always looking for donations to keep things running! Have another way you’d like to help, please let me know!

Thank you so much for your continued support of Port Gardner, we appreciate everything you do!

Information Updates allow families to review and update student and guardian information to keep school records accurate and up to date.
Why is this important?
We changed student information systems (SIS) over the summer, and the new system tracks information about guardians in more detail than our previous SIS. This is your opportunity to review the information about you and your student that made the transition between the two systems.
Emergency Contact & Safety: Having the correct phone numbers, addresses, and emergency contacts helps us reach you quickly if needed.
Opt-in and out of information sharing with Colleges and Military recruiters, or family meal status to enable reduced fees for athletics and ASB activities.
Health Information: Updated medical conditions, allergies, and medications help us keep your child safe during the school day.
Communication: Accurate information ensures you receive school announcements, teacher messages, report cards, and district updates.
- Legal & Custody information: Verifying guardian rights and permissions helps us protect your student’s well-being. A default value was entered for guardians as part of the conversion but is not always correct.
