Week 22

Welcome to another 4 day week, NO SCHOOL on Friday for Parent/Teacher Conferences. If I haven't contacted you, your child is doing well and we don't need to meet. If you would like to schedule a time to meet, please let me know. I will be at Ike all morning, so if a Bradley parent would like to meet and doesn't want to trek all the way to Ike, I can set up a Zoom.

With the end of the year approaching, I know that orders are beginning to come in as well for some. If possible, please let me or the office know when you can where you will be for next year.

The last week of our Safe and Healthy Me theme is over Active Me. Our word of the week is Nutritious. We will be talking about what kind of foods are healthy, what food we should have as treats, and why.

Vocabulary this week: Exercise, active

Photo cards: riding a tricycle, visiting the doctor, skating, climbing

Letters: K, k, Q, q

Our math focus will to start to look at more complicated patterns this week, AAB patterns. We will keep making patterns with our manipulatives, calendar, and more.

For our calm down strategies, we are practicing the S.T.A.R strategy with partners. Stop.Take a deep breath.And.Relax.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

On the 27th there are Parent/Teacher Conferences, these are as needed conferences. I have contacted those that I would like to meet with. If you don't hear from me about conferences, that means that your child is doing great and I have zero concerns. If you would like to meet with me, please let me know.

I will be at Ike for the conferences as I will be leaving at 11:30 to go out of town. If any Bradley families would like a conference and aren't able to come to Ike, I can set up a zoom conference if needed. If Friday doesn't work, please let me know and we can reschedule.

Cold/Wet Weather Is Here!

The school's cold weather policy will cancel school if road conditions are unsafe for travel OR the windchill is -15 degrees Fahrenheit. Secretly, I am hoping for a ton of snow. It makes the cold weather bearable if there is something pretty to look at.

With the weather getting very unpredictable, please dress in layers and a coat. We will go outside if it is above a feel like temp of 27 degrees Fahrenheit and it is not too wet/icy.

Please send with coats! Either in backpacks or worn. If they get hot, we can always put in their cubbies. That way they don't get too cold when we go outside.

Spring Pictures/Class Pictures

I will update the information on when our class/spring pictures will be.

Self-Help & Fine Motor Skills

Please help encourage self-help skills at home. If you have time, have them practice of putting on their own shoes, coats, etc before going somewhere. In the classroom, these skills can help speed up transitions or if more than one student needs help, the more they know how to do the easier.

For fine motor skills; if you have junk mail at home, that would be great practice for them to just cut away on. Or if you don't want to worry about scissors at home, having them tear paper with their pincher fingers (thumb and index fingers). Junk mail has many uses to help with fine motor muscle building.

*IF you would like a fine motor packet, I can provide you with one. A fine motor packet has OT provided materials and tips that will help strengthen their muscles at home.
