A Message from Dr. Kelley Gallt
October 28, 2024
Dear District 95 Families,
I hope you are enjoying the beautiful fall weather we have had this month! This is always a busy time of year, with so many student activities in full swing. There are photos below that capture just some of the many fall activities that our students have participated in these past few weeks - it is great to see our students having so many wonderful experiences alongside their classroom learning.
As October winds down I want to give a special shout out to our amazing building principals here and in the article below. Our principals are exceptional and their leadership is a large part of why we have such high performing schools. In addition, they model the district values on a daily basis. I have the utmost respect for our building principals and hope you have joined us in celebrating them throughout the month of October - it is richly deserved!
This month also provides us with opportunities to further recognize the many community partners, board members, and emergency responders who contribute so much to our schools. Together, we strengthen our district and make it a place of learning, growth, and safety. We also recently honored several distinguished alumni whose achievements inspire our students to reach for their dreams and make a positive impact on their communities and beyond. I encourage everyone to join us in celebrating these individuals and the role they play in our district’s success.
Additionally, as we prepare for the upcoming parent/guardian/teacher conferences, I’d like to remind families to please sign up to participate. Conferences are a valuable opportunity for us to work together in supporting, celebrating, and nurturing each student’s growth and achievements. Through this strong partnership, we ensure that each learner is set up for success.
Enjoy these last days of October and the fun of any Halloween festivities! Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our schools.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kelley Gallt

Parent-Guardian Feedback
As a district, we value partnerships with parents/guardians in creating vibrant and supportive learning environments for all students. From November 18th through December 19th, you will have the opportunity to participate in a brief survey to share your experiences with our district. This survey is designed to help us understand how our families view the quality of services we provide, and your feedback will guide us in identifying areas for growth and improvement. Innovation in the Classroom
Innovation in the Classroom
This month, I had the opportunity to step into a high school math classroom—not as a superintendent, but as a student. Our high school has launched a classroom supported by two passionate and dedicated teachers, who are co-teaching the course together to support student learning. From the moment I stepped in, it was clear how much thought and preparation had gone into the lesson.
What stood out most was the seamless co-teaching dynamic between the two instructors. As students worked in teams, the teachers moved throughout the room, offering guidance, asking questions that encouraged deeper thinking, and supporting each group’s process thoughtfully to provoke successful solution finding efforts.
Students were up on their feet, solving problems at vertical whiteboards—transforming the traditional direct instructional model into a more dynamic, engaging, and interactive learning environment. This method encouraged students to think critically and creatively while fostering communication and teamwork.
A standout feature of this approach was the atmosphere of risk-taking and intellectual curiosity. Students were encouraged to think out loud, make mistakes, and explore different problem-solving strategies without the fear of being wrong. This is a crucial component of innovation in education – shifting the focus from simply getting the "right" answer to understanding the process and being unafraid to take on complex challenges. It was inspiring to see students so engaged, willing to stretch their thinking, and openly discuss their ideas with their peers and teachers.
I left the classroom feeling proud of the work being done and excited about the impact of this type of learning on our students' future success in math and beyond. Here’s to more great learning experiences like this one!

A Letter from Board Member, Natashia Dannegger
Dear District 95 Community,
As a proud member of our school board and a mom of four boys—one at Isaac Fox Elementary, one at Middle School South, and two at the high school—I want to take a moment to share my deep appreciation for our school district and the incredible community we’ve built together.
Having started my career as an elementary school teacher, education has always been my passion. Currently, I serve as a substitute teacher in Barrington School District, and I’ve also had the privilege of working as a substitute in our own district (prior to becoming a Board member), gaining first-hand experience in all of our elementary school buildings. This background has greatly informed my role on the board, particularly as I’ve participated in various committees, including the Facilities and Business Operations Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee, the Languages Committee, the Referendum Committee, and the Redistricting Committee. I also had the honor of serving as Isaac Fox PTO president, which reinforced my commitment to our schools and the families we serve.
I am especially proud of our district's achievements, including receiving two Blue Ribbon Awards and the Green Ribbon Award, which reflect our dedication to academic excellence and environmental sustainability. As a board, we work diligently to ensure fiscal responsibility while striving for academic success and fostering equity and inclusion for all students.
I sincerely hope to connect with many of you at upcoming school events or on the sidelines of one of my boys’ baseball, basketball, soccer, or football games. Please feel free to stop by and chat; I would love to hear your thoughts and share ideas about how we can continue to support our students and community.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our schools. Together, we can continue to foster a nurturing and enriching environment for all our children.
Sincerely,
Natashia Dannegger
