Dear GNBVT Community,

As the calendar turns to November this weekend, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of our students, families, and staff for your support, participation, and flexibility with our delayed starts throughout October.

I recognize that adjusting routines can be challenging for families, and I truly appreciate everyone’s adaptability. These delayed starts provided our staff with dedicated time to participate in meaningful professional development, collaborate across departments, and strengthen our instructional practices to continually enhance the learning experience for our students. According to student feedback, our students enjoyed having the extra time at home to sleep in or get a few things accomplished before heading to school.

To help us evaluate and improve these practices, Superintendent Watson will soon be sharing a Thought Exchange survey regarding late starts and half days with all students, families, and staff. Please keep an eye out for that communication and share your feedback as your perspective is invaluable as we refine our schedules.

Upcoming Reminder:

  • Tuesday, November 3rd: No school for students due to a staff professional development day.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve this amazing school community as your Interim Principal. We have made such positive strides together over these first few months of the school year. Let’s keep this momentum going as we collaborate to ensure our students remain engaged in a safe, productive learning environment every day at GNBVT.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

Sincerely,

Derek J. Medeiros

Interim Principal

Cold & Flu Season

Dear Families,
As we enter cold and flu season, we would like to remind families of the importance of keeping our school community healthy.
Please keep your child home if they are experiencing significant illness or have a fever. Students should be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school.
We also encourage students to:
  • Wash their hands frequently with soap and water.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or their elbow.
  • Avoid sharing food, drinks, or personal items.
  • Stay home and rest when they are feeling unwell.
If your child misses several days of school due to illness, please contact their pediatrician or family physician regarding a doctor's note to excuse the absences.

Thank you for helping us reduce the spread of illness and keep our students and staff healthy!
