OLD TRAIL INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL END OF SCHOOL NEWSLETTER OLD TRAIL INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL END OF SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

Well, we did it. Our inaugural year at Old Trail is complete. It was a fabulous first year here at Old Trail. It was phenomenal working with students from different elementary schools and watching them all come together to be one Old Trail family. Equally awesome was bringing a staff together from so many different schools into one Old Trail team. The work we have all done together this year has been nothing short of amazing. I want to thank each of you for entrusting your children to our care.

Over the summer we will be preparing for year two. Our fifth grade students will be moving up to grade 6 and we will be welcoming a new batch of students from Red Mill, Fishing Creek, and Newberry Elementary Schools. We will also have some new staff joining us in various capacities. Look for updates throughout the summer as to what's new.

On behalf of both administrators as well as all the staff, we say thank you for an excellent school year!

Field Day

Did you see or hear about our amazing field days this year? Miss Crystal Johnston, PE teacher extraordinaire, planned an amazing two days full of fun and fitness for our classes. Our PTO was incredibly helpful in securing volunteers, snacks, and hydration for the days. The Old Trail staff helped supervise the activities throughout the day and kept students organized as they moved from station to station. And we had many volunteers from Red Land High School who helped make the days a success. It was by far the best field day experience possible for our students!

Student Award Ceremonies

On June 5, we held two assemblies where we honored students from both fifth and sixth grades here at Old Trail. Students received accolades for ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Overall Achievement, Exceptional Effort, and Old Trail pride. We also honored students in Math 24, Math Olympiad, Newspaper, Broadcasting, Academic Bowl, Student Council, and Student Advisory Committee. And students from all our talented music ensembles were recognized. Thank you to those family and friends that were able to join us.

Lost and Found

We have two tables full of items that were left behind at the end of the school year. These include sweatshirts, water bottles, lunch boxes, eyeglasses, and even brand new sneakers. If your student is missing something, please come to school and check for it. After June 30, we will be donating what is left, cleaning up, and starting over again for next year.

Summer Hours

Our office hours this summer are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm. The office is closed on Fridays. You can also call us at 223-234-9750 or email either administrator at mtrevino@wssd.k12.pa.us or dknepp@wssd.k12.pa.us.

The Old Trail PTO has done an amazing job this year and are very appreciative of the parents who stepped up to take on the huge task of starting a PTO from scratch. We also have a ZOOM option for those who cannot attend in person. We hope you can join us and thank you for your support!
