2025-2026 School Year

  • The first day of school for the 2025-2026 school year will be Monday, August 25, 2025.

  • Click Transportation for the handbook and Bus Zone App instructions.

  • Go to PowerSchool to update your profile, address, or preferred language for communication. This is required by the first day of school! It is critically important that we have updated contact information for you in the event of an emergency. WBSD has the ability to call, text and email - please make sure you're signed up for all options. You can unsubscribe at any time.

  • Find the 2025-26 calendar and bell times all in one place. The calendar will be updated the evening of August 11, 2025. It is a negotiated item between the District and the West Bloomfield Education Association (WBEA), the teachers’ union. We anticipate alignment with the Oakland Schools Common Calendar (for Winter and Spring break), as has been the case in previous years. We appreciate your patience and understand how important it is to have this information for planning purposes.

It's Quick, Confidential, and Critical for Student Support & District Funding

The Michigan School Aid Budget for this year has not been finalized, so it’s still uncertain whether the state will provide funding to offer free meals for all students.

To ensure your child’s access to meals is not interrupted and to help West Bloomfield School District secure critical state and federal funding, we need
ALL families to complete the Education & Nutrition Benefits Application (formerly known as the Free & Reduced Meals Application).

Complete the application today at:
https://westbloomfield.familyportal.cloud/

  • If you need assistance or have questions about completing the form, please contact Andrea Grobe at andrea.grobe@wbsd.org.

Why it matters:

  • Your application helps ensure we can continue to provide nutritious meals to all students.

  • Funding tied to our free/reduced rate supports far more than meals; it impacts academic programs, technology, and student services.

  • Even if you think you may not qualify, completing the form still helps the district.

These historic issues are now available online:
