Bobcat Bulletin

We're already well into our second nine weeks, and October is certainly keeping our Bobcats busy! With fall sports wrapping up and basketball season just around the corner, there's plenty of excitement happening at BAS.

We have another full week ahead! Fall Picture Retakes are Monday, followed by Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday and our Entire School Field Trip on Thursday. Don't forget that Wednesday is an early dismissal day, with students getting out at 12:00 PM.

We're also looking forward to having our BAS students sing at Burleson SDA Church on Saturday, October 24! It's always a blessing to see our students share their talents and participate in worship.

And believe it or not, next week brings Red Ribbon Week, Spirit Week, and Week of Prayer! Be sure to look through this week's Bulletin for all the details, reminders, and upcoming activities. There's a lot happening, and we don't want anyone to miss out!

Perseverance means continuing to do what's right, even when things get difficult. Whether it's working through a challenging assignment, practicing a skill that doesn't come easily, or navigating a difficult friendship, our students are learning that growth takes patience and determination.

God doesn't promise that everything will be easy, but He reminds us that remaining faithful through challenges is worth it.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are this Wednesday! These conversations are a valuable opportunity for parents and teachers to work together to support each student's growth—not just academically, but socially and emotionally, too.

A few ways to make the most of your conference:

• Come with questions. Is your child participating in class? How do they handle challenges? Are they building positive relationships with classmates?

• Look beyond the grades. Ask about effort, independence, organization, and areas where your child is showing growth.

• Share what you're seeing at home. Changes in motivation, homework struggles, or even things your child is excited about can help teachers better understand their needs.

• Leave with a plan. Identify one or two specific things you and your child's teacher can work on together during the next nine weeks.

Remember, parents and teachers are on the same team. We may see different sides of a child, but sharing those perspectives helps us better support the whole student.

The Southwestern Adventist University Missions Fair will be held Sabbath, October 24 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm in the Chan Shun Centennial Library, 101 W Magnolia, Keene. Experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of mission work through international food samples, live music, and engaging exhibits. Meet missionaries, hear their stories, and discover how lives are being changed around the world. Come enjoy an afternoon of culture, inspiration, and connection!

• 📸 Monday, October 19 — Fall Picture Retakes — If your student needs a retake or missed our original Picture Day, please email office@bas4u.org to sign up.

• 👩‍🏫 Wednesday, October 21 — Parent/Teacher Conferences — Early dismissal at 12:00 PM! After School Care charges will begin at 12:15 PM. We look forward to connecting with our families about student progress!

• 🚌 Thursday, October 22 — Entire School Field Trip — 8:30 AM–3:30 PM. Please complete your student's online permission slip. Cost is $15 per student. Students will need a sack lunch, as we will be eating outside and no microwaves will be available.

• 🎶 Saturday, October 24 — BAS Singing at Burleson SDA Church — Our students will be sharing special music during the worship service! We invite all BAS families to join us.

• ❤️🙏🎉 October 26–30 — Red Ribbon Week, Spirit Week & Week of Prayer — Get ready for a special week filled with themed dress-up days, activities, and opportunities to grow together in faith!

• 🏃 Sunday, November 1 — BAS Fun Run — Our school fundraiser is coming up! Be sure to share your student's pledge page with friends and family to help support BAS!

• 🍂 Sunday, November 8 — BAS Fall Fest — Save the date for an afternoon of fun and fellowship with our BAS community! More details coming soon.
