Don’t forget: You can still save $50 per child when you complete the full registration process by May 31. The process is quick—just about 15 minutes if you have your documents ready to upload.

After focusing on spelling throughout the year, 3rd and 4th grade finished up the year with a class spelling bee. What a great group of spellers they are. Going for more than 15 rounds three students rose to the top and became the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place spelling champions. Congrats to all the students and keep it up!

Whenever you get all these crazy animals together for a race you never know what is going to happen, but you can be sure it won't be what you planned for. Although many of the animals misbehaved they all finished the race, with Mrs. Peacock Just passing Señor Shark Weaver and taking the lead at the last minute for the win. It was a fun event for everyone.

For parents who are looking for extra tutoring in reading over the summer Aimee Patterson, our school reading support teacher, is available to tutor at the school library during the month of June. If your child is part of our Barton Reading and Spelling program your child needs to continue the program in some way at least twice a week over the summer to prevent summer slide and in order to continue progress in the program. Please contact the school office for more information.

We had a number of classes where the students really wanted to give their moms special treatment as they prepare for Mothers Day. They provided snacks, special cards and messages, massages, hand moisturizing, hugs, and even facials. The main thing they were given was love. Such big hearts for mom.

We are excited to be gathering volunteers for the KEENE VBS which will be June 1-5! If you are able to volunteer in ANY capacity it will be appreciated! Monday - Lasagna, garlic bread, salad, and juice or milk.

Tuesday - Fried rice, tofu, broccoli, and a drink.

Wednesday - Veggie burgers, potato chips, and juice.

Thursday - Quesadillas, white rice, salad, and a drink.

Friday - Hotdogs, tater tots, carrot sticks, juice or milk.
