This month is full of exciting events and opportunities! 🎉

May brings Teacher Appreciation Week, PTA Coin War, Field Day, Roadrunner Fest, our annual Talent Show, Award Ceremonies, and so much more. It’s going to be a fun and memorable month for our Roadrunners! 💛

📌 Attendance Reminder:

Our school day begins promptly at 7:50 AM, and consistent attendance is key to student success—every day counts! To support timely arrivals:

• Parents/guardians dropping off students after 7:50 AM will receive a Parent Tardy—a friendly reminder of our start time.

• Students arriving at 8:05 AM or later must be signed in by a parent/guardian at the front office.

CCISD’s Annual Update is now open. This process ensures that we have current contact information and required forms on file well before the 2026-2027 school year. Please complete the online Annual Update for each of your children who will be returning to CCISD.

A form titled “Smith Elementary Returning/Not Returning 2026–2027” will be sent home Thursday, April 30th in your child’s Red Roadrunner Folder. Please complete one form per student and return it to your child’s teacher by Friday, May 8th. As an alternative, you may complete the form online by scanning the provided QR code or by clicking this LINK. The purpose of this form is to let us know whether your child will be returning to Smith Elementary for the 2026–2027 school year. This information is essential for helping us plan and prepare for the upcoming school year. 🎉 If you have any questions, feel free to contact our office at 361-878-2760.

We’re excited to share information about our upcoming CCISD Summer Track Program!

This program is a great opportunity for athletes that are looking to develop speed (sprints), explosiveness (jumps & throws), endurance (distance) and compete in organized track meets, all while training in a positive and structured environment. In addition to athletic development, we will place a strong emphasis on building high character as we continue helping each athlete become the best version of themselves heading into the upcoming school year.

Program Details:

• Dates: June 1–25

• Practice Time: Monday–Thursday, 6:00–8:00 PM

• Location: Cabaniss Stadium

• Ages: 8–18 (Grades 3–12)

• Cost: $50 (includes uniform top)

• Meets at: Cabaniss Stadium & Buc Stadium

We are thrilled to announce that Smith Elementary will be offering childcare for CCISD employees! Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open.

If you need childcare for a child between 6 weeks and 3 years old (turning 3 after September 1st), please complete the application and select your preferred location.
