Newton County Schools Featured in Today's Atlanta Journal Constitution
Dear Newton County Schools staff and families,
I hope you have noticed that throughout the early months of this school year, we have had much to celebrate. Specifically, we have made significant strides in student achievement. I will not recount all of our results here, but one thing is undeniable -- our improvement is taking root across the district, and others are taking notice.
Perhaps one of the clearest examples of our improvement comes from our middle school turnaround initiative, which represents some of the district’s most expansive work. I am especially proud of our middle school principals, teachers, and staff and the commitment they have made to translating our priorities into meaningful gains for students.
In fact, we are fortunate to share our story with the broader metro-Atlanta community. Today, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution thought our work was fitting to be highlighted in an opinion piece that demonstrates how investments in stronger systems are helping Newton County Schools improve student outcomes. It is an opportunity to share not only the progress we are making, but also the collective work behind it.

I hope you will take a few minutes to read and share the piece. You are an important part of this story, and I am grateful for all that you do.
With sincere appreciation,
Duke
