Thanks to PTO funding, our birthday book "vending machine" is open for business. Thank you to Mrs. Hagen for getting the display case so well organized. Every child will receive a book this year for their birthday.

Good Morning Memorial Families,

We hope that everyone enjoyed the weekend. We are gearing up for our first full week of school. Thankfully, this week looks to be a bit cooler and will hopefully allow us to get a solid five days of learning in!

Open House

Next Monday and Tuesday night we will welcome our families into the building for our annual fall open house. The schedule is as follows:

Monday, September 18th

6:00pm- PreK and Grade 3

7:00pm- Grade 4

Tuesday, September 19th

5:00pm- Grade K

6:00pm- Grade 1

7:00pm- Grade 2

Families will spend the first 30 minutes in your child’s classroom to receive an overview of class routines, the grade level curriculum, and to look around the classroom. After 30 minutes, you will be able to visit the fall book fair. We look forward to seeing families next week!

Drop off and Dismissal Reminders

Most families have settled into the morning and afternoon routines. Just a few reminders heading into the third week.

-The police and fire departments want me to remind everyone that you should not arrive more than 15 minutes before arrival or dismissal (before 8:30am or 3:00pm) or they will ask you to leave and return later.

-Only our preschool parents should be getting out of the car. We expect that most of our kindergarten and older students are able to unbuckle and buckle themselves into their seats. If your child is having difficulty with this, please take some time to practice to allow for quicker loading and unloading of students.

-PLEASE have an easy to read sign displayed. We have a variety of people doing pick up duty in the afternoons and having a sign makes it easier for the person on duty to call your child’s name accurately.

-Do not pass cars in the drop off/pick up line. Please be patient so that we can avoid an accident.

We have our first PTO meeting of the year on Wednesday night at 6:30pm in the library. I urge families to attend and get involved. We have an amazing, inclusive, and fun group and can always use new ideas and points of view. Hope to see many of you there!

Have a wonderful week!

Warmly,

Wendy and Lauren

Monday. September 18th: Open House Grades 3 and 4

Tuesday, September 19th: Open House Grades K-2

School Hours

Our school hours are 8:45am-3:15pm. Drop off begins at 8:45 and students who arrive after 9:00am are considered tardy. We will begin dismissal right around 3:15pm.

Due to the hectic nature of the late afternoon, we will no longer be allowing parent dismissals from the main office after 2:45pm. If your child has an appointment, please plan to dismiss him/her earlier, or make use of our pick up line at 3:15pm. Thank you for understanding.
