2026 KJ Dance Concert: Lights Up- A Collection of Broadway Classics

This spring, KJ Dance is proud to present our 2026 End-of-Year Concert, Lights Up: A Collection of Broadway Classics. This vibrant production celebrates the magic of musical theatre, bringing iconic Broadway stories to life through dance, creativity, and the heart of the KJ WAY. Featuring choreography inspired by five beloved Broadway musicals — A Chorus Line, Annie, Mary Poppins, Funny Girl, and Grease — the concert takes audiences on a theatrical journey through classic showmanship, storytelling, and joy.

The concert is thoughtfully structured into scenes, each highlighting a different Broadway production:

Opening – A Chorus Line: The show begins with a high-energy opener that celebrates dancers stepping into the spotlight.
Scene One – Annie: "It's A Hard Knock Life" A playful and heartfelt scene capturing resilience, optimism, and youthful spirit.
Scene Two – Mary Poppins: "Spoonful of Sugar" Whimsical, imaginative choreography that blends wonder, elegance, and fun.
Scene Three – Funny Girl: "Stepping into Stardom" A bold and expressive scene celebrating confidence, individuality, and stepping into stardom.
Scene Four – Grease: A lively finale full of energy, rhythm, and classic Broadway flair, bringing the evening to an exciting close.
Finale – A Chorus Line

Casting, Music, and Show Assignments

To help families stay organized and prepared, we have created a detailed Concert Assignment Chart linked below. This document includes important information to help you easily locate your dancer’s performance details and access practice music for at home.

At the top of the chart, you will see the assigned show day and performance time. In the left column, dance numbers are listed in scene order so you can see how the concert will flow. In the second column on the left, you will find clickable links to each class’s music, allowing dancers to practice and review choreography at home.

To find your dancer’s specific performance, please look for their class name and class time listed on the chart. If you are unsure of your child’s exact class name, log into your parent account and cross-reference it with the registered class listed in your portal.

Please note that some classes share the same name but are offered at different times or with different instructors. Be sure you are viewing the correct class listing when checking your assigned show information.

You will find a photo of your dancer’s costume listed on the chart in the furthest right column. These images are provided as a helpful visual reference; however, please note that costumes shown in the photo may vary slightly in color or detail.

All final costuming decisions are carefully selected and approved by our Directors to align with the artistic vision and overall theme of this production.
