From the Supervisor From the Supervisor

Welcome, preschool families! I am so excited to welcome you and your children to the Florence Township Preschool Program. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year filled with learning, growth, discovery, and lots of fun!

This year, we are excited to introduce several new initiatives as we continue to strengthen our preschool program. One area of focus will be study-based vocabulary, helping children develop meaningful language and vocabulary connected to their classroom studies and experiences. We will also be working toward creating a more consistent preschool experience across all four of our locations, while continuing to recognize and support the unique needs of each classroom and community.

Our goal is to provide every child with a high-quality, engaging, and developmentally appropriate preschool experience, no matter which location they attend.

As the school year begins and continues, please visit the Florence Township School District website and look under “Schools” → “Preschool” for important information, announcements, resources, and upcoming dates.

We can't wait to see all of our preschoolers on September 3rd! Please remember that the first day is an early dismissal day.

We are so excited for the year ahead and look forward to partnering with our families throughout the school year. Welcome to Florence Township Preschool—we are so glad you are here! 💙💛

Building Social-Emotional Skills with the Pyramid Model

In our preschool classrooms, we use the Pyramid Model to support children’s social-emotional development and help them build skills that will last a lifetime. Through daily routines, play, and intentional teaching, students learn how to become more independent, build positive friendships, and solve problems with others. We also teach children strategies for identifying and expressing their emotions, calming their bodies, managing strong feelings, and working through challenges. By giving children the tools and support they need, we help them develop confidence, independence, and the skills to build strong relationships with both peers and adults.

Meet the New Staff

Chelsea Conover: Chelsea comes to us with experience in teaching preschool and has a background in special education. She is a wonderful fit to help support our Future Flashes this School Year.

Dana Shann: Dana was in our school district last year in the Floater position. She would go to every classroom to support our preschool learners. This year she returns to us with her own classroom at Riverfront School.

Allison Betts: Allison is joining us this school year as the new floater teacher. She will be in all of our classrooms and will be helping to support our teachers and preschool learners.
