Summer Reading is Making a Splash!
We’re already halfway through Summer Reading, and we are absolutely blown away by our amazing readers! This has been our biggest year ever, with nearly 22% more participants than last summer. So far, our readers have logged an incredible 2,257 hours of reading and completed 1,928 weekly challenges—wow!
There’s still time to join the fun! Stop by the library or register online at dplindiana.org. July Kid Librarian
July Kid Librarian of the Month: Isaac K.
Meet our July Kid Librarian, Isaac K. Isaac is 7 years old and already a devoted library fan. When asked why he wanted to be a Kid Librarian, he said, “Because I love the library”—and it shows! His favorite books are Dog Man and Captain Underpants, and he’s a big fan of author Dav Pilkey. He loves a good adventure story and especially enjoys the hilarious antics of Dog Man, his favorite character.
Outside of reading, Isaac keeps busy with basketball, playing with friends, and participating in LEGO Club at the library. One of his favorite things about the library is exactly that—LEGO Club! He’s also inspired by one of our librarians, Frankie, because “she’s fun.” Isaac recommends Dog Man, Captain Underpants, All About the Human Body, Why We Went Extinct, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid to other young readers looking for a good book.
Thanks for sharing your love of reading and libraries with us, Isaac!
