🔥 Fire Drill Success! 🧯
The students did an amazing job during our first fire drill. It was fantastic to see how well the students listened, followed directions, and quickly moved to safety. Practicing such drills is crucial for ensuring that everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency, and our students did a great job. Way to go, students!
Yom Kippur Holiday
Wishing all who observe a meaningful Yom Kippur and an easy fast.
We are looking forward to another great week ahead. I wish you well!

🚗 Car Line Message for Arrival and Dismissal 🚗
I want to take a moment to thank families for making the adjustments to the car line. We have cut down on the drop off time and more families were able to make in before the cut off staff support time this week. We still have room for improvement that I hope will show this week. If you have another car giver dropping your child off in the carline please be sure to share this important information with them so that they are aware and can support with the improvement.
Student Drop-offs
No student will be accepted at the drop off spot unless pre-approved by the principal. This allowance is intended for students whose family rely on public transportation or walk to school for drop off only. Please be advised parking in the parking lot or across the street is not considered approved and you will be asked to return to your vehicle with your child and join the car line. I am asking the families to respect this expectation as it helps to support with our safety procedures. Car line will go quickly when we all do our part.
Car Merge
Lastly, it has been brought to my attention through a formal complaint that vehicles are not properly merging in the car line. While we understand that mornings can be busy and many people are in a rush, it is essential that all families follow the established procedures of merging one car at a time and equally. For example, one car on the left side, next the car on the right side, and so on. We will not always have a staff member assigned to that area as we are expecting families to follow this CEEP car line procedure.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to maintain a safe and respectful school environment. Please understand these procedures are necessary and are in place to ensure the safety of all students and families, as well as to maintain fairness for those who are patiently waiting in line.
⏰ 3:30 PM Late Pick Ups ⏰
⏰3:30 PM Late Pick Ups
A part of the parental agreement for participation in this program states that families will pick up their child or make other arrangements to have their child picked up at the end of the school day each day. Our students' school day ends at 3:30 pm (we start dismissal pick-ups at 3:15 pm), and the office closes shortly thereafter.
We understand that emergencies arise. We also understand that traffic can be challenging or hectic, so we ask that families always arrange for someone to pick up their child for such occasions. It is the responsibility of the parent to notify the CEEP main office when the authorized adult for pick up will be late, but unfortunately, it does not provide an excuse for the late arrival. All families should be in the parking lot by 3:30, not after, or you will be considered a late pick-up. A late pick-up fee will be assessed to families with excessive late pick-ups. Our staff contracted work hours end at 3:45 pm. Thank you for your attention to this matter and commitment to be on time to pick up your child or drop them off at the mandated times.
🎂 Student Birthdays 🎂
🚫 Outside food is Prohibited
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to provide our students with a safe and healthy eating environment. In order for the Nutrition Services to retain the Delaware Division of Public Health operating permit, it is their responsibility to comply with the State of Delaware Food Code. Therefore, outside food and snacks are prohibited.
Additionally, in order to receive reimbursement from the United States Department of Agriculture, they must also follow strict meal pattern regulations. Therefore, food prepared and served to students during regular school hours must adhere to the following conditions:
All food must be prepared under the supervision of School Nutrition services staff on school premises using school nutrition services equipment and utensils.
It is prohibited to deny students the opportunity to participate in school breakfast or lunch as a form of disciplinary action.
If you would like an in-classroom celebration (party) during regular school hours, the Nutrition Services Department is happy to provide meals/snack items. Please review the Pizza Party Order Form, Classroom Celebration Item List, and Classroom Celebration Order Form for more information. All forms must be completed and submitted to the Nutrition Services Staff 10 days prior to your in-classroom event.
Choose from our Classroom Celebration Items List of Smart Snack Approved Items. Complete the Classroom Celebration Order Form, and submit to the Nutrition Services Team at least 10 days prior to your event.
Please speak with your child’s classroom teacher to arrange alternative birthday celebration trinkets, such as stickers or bubbles. Balloons are not allowed.
🤒 Student Absences 🤒
If your child is absent, please make sure you complete the attendance form on the day of the student's absence. You can find this link on the weekly family newsletter.
📚Curriculum Highlights: First Six Weeks 📚
Our curriculum focuses on several key areas to help students settle into their new school environment and routines. Here’s what students are learning:
Daily Schedule: Understanding the structure of the school day helps children feel secure and manage transitions better.
Brain Smart Start: We begin each day with activities that promote emotional and cognitive readiness, setting a positive tone for learning.
Introduction to Center Areas: Students are exploring various center areas, which encourage hands-on learning and cooperation.
School Rules: We’re focusing on the core values of being safe, kind, and helpful. These rules are designed to create a supportive and friendly school environment for everyone and can be crossed over outside of the school.
🪅 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month 🪅
This month, we are also celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanic Heritage Month starts on September 15th and goes through October 15th. This month is a wonderful time to recognize and honor the rich cultures and positive contributions of the Hispanic community. This month, classrooms will highlight some traditions, music, art, and histories of Hispanic cultures around the world. We want to hear from you!!! We encourage our families to share stories, artifacts, or talents that reflect their heritage with the classroom teachers and help CEEP to make this a rich and meaningful celebration for all our students.
We are inviting families to join us and share the best ways that we can celebrate and support.
Check out this webpage with a list of multicultural children's books for children ages 3 to 5 featuring Hispanic or Hispanic American children and families.
