Noble Family Newsletter
January 12, 2026
At Noble Elementary, we believe that every student has the right to learn and grow in a safe and respectful environment. We also believe that every student has the power to make positive choices, learn from mistakes, and become stronger leaders in our school community. Noble Elementary empowers all students for college and career readiness through AVID’s schoolwide focus on WICOR, student success skills, and a growth mindset.
We had a strong first week back from Winter Break! Classrooms were full of active learning and student engagement. In Mrs. Cohen’s Wonders lesson, students participated in purposeful turn-and-talks with clear directions, helping everyone share ideas, listen to classmates, and deepen their understanding together.
The Power of Service
Noble Families,
As we reflect on the challenges and opportunities in our work with students, this is also a time to find inspiration in the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On Monday, January 19, we will celebrate MLK Day. We hope the extended weekend provides a chance for your family to rest, reflect, and consider how Dr. King’s teachings, about service, kindness, and caring for others, can continue to guide our daily lives.
Observing MLK Day through service is a meaningful way to honor Dr. King’s life, strengthen our communities, and connect students to experiences that matter. Throughout the week, we will provide students with background about the holiday and highlight some of Dr. King’s most important lessons, encouraging reflection, empathy, and action.
Dr. King reminded us that “everyone can be great because everybody can serve.” His life inspires us to make a difference through service, connection, and care for others. As your children learn about Dr. King, we hope they will be inspired to think about ways they, too, can serve and make a positive impact in their school, home, and community.
Thank you for partnering with us and supporting your child’s learning. It has been wonderful to welcome students back from Winter Break and see routines, learning, and engagement across the building. We look forward to continuing this momentum into 2026, keeping important learning milestones such as Acadience, Interims, and Spring OST on our horizon.

From the Assistant Principal's Desk
Noble Families,
The New Year has offered a fresh start, and it has been wonderful to see it in action at Noble! In classrooms this week, teachers have been intentionally revisiting routines, modeling expectations, and creating space for students to practice, reflect, and re-engage. Learning felt purposeful, grounded, and calm as students settled back into their daily routines together.
We know returning from a break can be a big adjustment for students, and teachers have made thoughtful choices to slow down when needed, whether for a morning, a day, or a few key moments, to reinforce expectations and remind students of the “why” behind them. That investment pays off in student confidence, engagement, and a positive classroom community.
As the weeks continue, teachers are leaning on our school-wide expectations and shared routines to provide consistency and support for students. These practices not only help students succeed at school, but also prepare them with skills they will carry beyond the classroom. We are grateful for the care, focus, and consistency teachers bring each day, and we are excited to continue building on this strong start together with our students.

Mid-Year Survey
We invite you to participate in our Mid-Year Family Feedback Survey, an important opportunity to share your voice and help shape future programming.
Your feedback helps us better understand what is working well and where we can improve to support strong family–school partnerships across the district. Survey results are used to inform decision-making, enhance communication, and ensure that our efforts align with the needs and experiences of our families.
The survey is confidential and takes just a few minutes to complete. Your perspective matters —every response helps us strengthen meaningful connections between home and school.
Thank you for partnering with us and for your continued support of our students and schools.

Winter MAP Growth
We are excited to share an update on our students’ academic growth from Winter 2024 to Winter 2025! At Noble Elementary, we use the NWEA MAP Growth assessments to track student learning and growth throughout the year. These assessments help us understand each child’s unique learning journey and celebrate their achievements.
Our students take the following assessments:
-
Math: Grades K–5
-
Reading: Grades 3–5
-
Science: Grades 4–5
Looking at national percentile rankings, we are thrilled with the progress our students have made. In all subject areas, student made tremendous strides and met not just minimum growth, but stretch growth targets! This growth reflects the impact of our intentional, student-centered teaching and the dedication of our students. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and look forward to continuing this momentum throughout the rest of the school year!
