From the Principal... From the Principal...

We are really hitting our groove here in Chargerland! Our students are showing great leadership both inside and outside of the classroom, and we are proud of the positive choices they are making each day.

As schedules become more familiar, we are now focusing on helping students be timely to class and make the most of every minute of learning. We are also excited for the changing weather as we head into the second half of the season.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued partnership and support of our staff, students, and families. Let’s continue to embrace this great start to the school year and keep Charging Forward Together!

Buses Buses

You hear that music playing at 3:50 p.m.? That means the BUSES ARE LEAVING!! Everyone needs to make sure we are packing up and heading out the doors during dismissal quickly.

Make sure you check the white board for the number of your bus to determine the location or whether it is not here yet.

If it is not here, all students should report to the cafeteria and we will alert you when it is here.

School & Bus IDs School & Bus IDs

Students should have received two IDs for the school year.

  • Bus ID: Attached to a bungee cord and intended to be clipped securely to their backpack. This ID must be used daily to ride the school bus.

  • School ID: Attached to a CJHS lanyard and meant to be worn around the neck during the school day. Students will use this ID for lunch purchases and other school-related needs throughout the year.

Please help remind your student to keep both IDs in their proper places each day so they are ready for school and transportation. If students lose their IDs, they should go to the School Counselors office immediately to be issued one.

Students are only permitted to go to the guidance office to get a new ID during Advisory. If students do not have their ID at lunch, they will write their name on a sticky note and hand it to the cafeteria staff when they are called.

First lost ID is free, thereafter they are $3 and will be charged to IC accounts.

CJHS Reminders - Cell Phone & Tardies CJHS Reminders - Cell Phone & Tardies

Reminder to our families and students that cell phones should SILENT AND AWAY during the school day.

  • This means that the ringer is on silent and cell phone is out of sight.
  • It should never be in the student's hands during the school day.

Students may carry their cell phones in their pocket or pencil pouch, but must refrain from taking the cell phone out during the school day.

Please note this includes the use of Smart Watches - talking into it or manually texting.

Thank you for helping our students following our schoolwide expectations.

Attending High School Football Games? Attending High School Football Games?

High school football games are great events for junior high and elementary students to attend to start seeing what high school life is like. Junior high and elementary students coming to a football game at either NCHS or West must be accompanied by an adult (18 or older). Junior high or elementary students without an adult will not be allowed to purchase a ticket to enter the stadium. We also ask that students not bring bags, sports balls, or other toys to the game.
