Happy New Year from MCS! Happy New Year from MCS!

MCS: Winter Vacation Camp'21: Happy New Year

MCS Return Update

Dear MCS Parents and Families,

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and new year. Per the communication sent out by Superintendent Jette on December 30th, we would like to remind you of MPS current policies. Community Schools will continue to reinforce all protocols in both Early School Arrival Program (ESAP) and After School Enrichment (ASE). Community Schools currently does not participate in the "Test and Stay" program.

  • Vaccinations: It is recommended that you follow the advice of your student’s primary care physician with regard to vaccinations and boosters. Please send copies of completed vaccination cards to your student's school nurse.
  • When in Doubt, Stay Out: If your student has COVID-19 symptoms, do not send them to school and please follow the two steps below:

a. Call your school before 8:30 a.m. to report your student’s absence

b. Contact our school nurses for further guidance

  • Masks: Masks will continue to be required until further notice for all at Milton Public Schools.

We will continue to stick to these protocols the best we can. These are challenging times for everyone. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Best,

MCS Team

Vacation Camp Student OF The Week: James Tobin

James Tobin is a fourth grade student at Collicot. His favorite part of vacation camp was bowling because "I love bowling!" A fun fact about James is "I love Gaga ball and am good at it but the fun fact part is that I do not like to hit the ball without gloves on." For the new year, James is excited for COVID to hopefully go away at some point so that he can see some of his family. However, he is most excited for Halloween in 2022 because he already knows what he wants to dress up as, the Grim Reaper! James' favorite color is Red and for his favorite movie, James said, "the new one that just came out with the magic family."

Vacation Camp Staff Of The Week: Mr. McMurray

Mr. Cullen McMurray started his career with MCS as a community service student at Camp Cunningham. Then, he went on to work with ASE and vacation camps starting in 2015. Now, he is currently a Milton Public Schools Teacher. "It is sort of a full circle that started at Camp Cunningham as Community Service." Mr. Murray is a graduate of Milton Public Schools and Assumption University in Worcester. His favorite part of vacation camps is "the smaller groups. Typically, we have larger groups in the classroom. Here, we really get to know them and help them whether its art or gym and a variety of activities that are a whole lot of fun." Mr. McMurray's News Years Resolution is to "like everyone, watch what I eat and be healthier. I'm not sure if it will last." In 2022, he also hopes to have fun and enjoy the year. Now that he is a teacher, Mr. McMurray hopes to stop by ASE more frequently and work with those children. Mr. McMurray's favorite color is Red and said "I'm probably biased because I'm from Milton. If I had to pick a back up, it would be blue." His favorite movie is Coco!
