Principal Corner

Dear Smith Stallions,

Happy Fall and Happy October!! We know everyone is looking forward to the rain and cooler weather that is ahead. We had a great week of learning! Our Smith Stallions are the BEST! We would also like to thank you for attending your child's conference this week. We value our partnership with you!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS AND UPCOMING EVENTS:

FLU CLINIC: The flu clinic will be at TGS on Tuesday, October 15th.
BOOK FAIR: The book fair will continue to be available to students on Monday and Tuesday.
CHANGES IN TRANSPORTATION: The office is a busy place in the afternoons. If you need to make changes to how your child gets home, please call the office at 750-8846 no later than 2:30 p.m. so that there is time to get the message to your child's teacher.
MORNING DROP OFF: Safety is our #1 priority! Our doors do not open until 7:15 a.m. each day. Please do not drop off your child before 7:15 a.m. Our duty personnel do not arrive until 7:15 a.m. each morning.
BOOK CHARACTER DAY: In the past, we have had Book Character Day close to Halloween. However, this year we will have Book Character Day the first week of March 2022 during Read Across America Week.
INSERVICE DAYS: October 15th and 18th will be work days for teachers. Students will not attend school on these days.

We have some extra yearbooks from the 2020-21 school year. If you would like to purchase last year's yearbook, please send $15.00 with your child and we will get you one.

Flu Clinic: The flu clinic is scheduled for October 5th. If you would like for your child to get a flu shot at school, please be sure to complete the form that was sent home. If you still need a form, call the office.

Covid: Has your child tested positive for Covid? Has your child been exposed to Covid outside of the school building? Please see all information about reporting Covid and exposures on the link below.
