Dear God,

As we light the fourth Advent candle,
we thank You for Your love and grace.

Thank You for sending Jesus to be with us,
to show us kindness, forgiveness,
and how to love one another.

Help us share Your grace in our words and actions
at school, at home, and everywhere we go.
Prepare our hearts to welcome Jesus with joy.

We ask this with thankful hearts.
Amen.

Counselling Counselling

A message from our school counsellor…

Encourage your child to talk about their day using specific questions like “What made you smile today?” or “Who did you enjoy playing with?” This helps build emotional awareness, strengthens communication, and opens the door for your child to share challenges in a safe, natural way.

Thank You Parent Council Thank You Parent Council

On behalf of the staff and students, we extend our sincere appreciation to our Parent Council volunteers for their generous support. Thank you for providing breakfast on the December 12 PD Day, for supplying hot chocolate after our Christmas Card Delivery, snacks and drinks during the school day on Wednesday, December 17, and for organizing the family dance on the evening of December 18.

Your kindness, generosity, and continued commitment to our school community are greatly valued and deeply appreciated. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Child Illness - All the Bugs are Going Around Child Illness - All the Bugs are Going Around

In our journey through this academic season, we hope you and your family are doing well. As we move forward, there's an important matter we'd like to address—child illnesses within our school community.

Several children that attend St. Elizabeth Seton School have recently been ill with diarrhea and/or vomiting. Most children recover from the illness on their own, but to prevent the spread of infection, Alberta Health Services recommends that parents should carry out the following precautions:

1. Children who are ill with vomiting or diarrhea should Stay home until 48 hours after the last episode of vomiting and/or diarrhea, because the germs that cause the illness can be easily spread from one child to another.

2. Keep your child well hydrated while ill with vomiting or diarrhea. If the vomiting and/or diarrhea last for more than 72 hours, consider consulting your physician.

3. Ensure that your child and others in your household wash their hands frequently, to prevent spread of illness in your home.

Alberta Health Services is working closely with school administrators to limit the spread of the illness.

Please call HealthLINK Alberta at 8-1-1 if you have any further questions.

We will continue to monitor this situation and the impact that it could have on extracurricular activities taking place at the school.

Your cooperation and support in maintaining a healthy environment for our students and staff are greatly valued. Let's continue to prioritize everyone's well-being. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

Hot Lunch - Requesting a Lunch Pick-Up When Your Child is Sick Hot Lunch - Requesting a Lunch Pick-Up When Your Child is Sick

In our ongoing efforts to streamline operations and support our Hot Lunch Program, we would like to remind families of our process regarding meal pick-ups. If your child is away, and you plan to collect their lunch later, kindly inform the office when leaving a message on our attendance line or call in before 10:00 AM. This proactive approach helps us better coordinate and minimizes disruptions for our dedicated office staff and parent volunteers. Without prior notice, unclaimed lunches will be gladly donated to a student in need. Your cooperation in adhering to this new procedure is highly appreciated and ensures a smoother experience for everyone involved. Thank you for your understanding and collaboration.

School Bus Delays & the Bus App - Download the Bus Status App School Bus Delays & the Bus App - Download the Bus Status App

While our school buses are almost always on time, the winter months and snowy road conditions can lead to delays for your child’s school bus. To stay notified of your child’s bus status, please see the following links for ways to check on bus times. The App has been refreshed and is now called Bus Status 4. Please reinstall the app if you still have the older version.

St. Elizabeth Seton School Website

Bus status can be found on the main page of our website. It will display if a bus is on-time, delayed, or cancelled. There will often be a comment next to the delayed buses indicating how long the bus delay is. Click the title above to link to our website.
