From the Counselor - Graduation Needs
This week, potential graduating students have visited with me to discuss their progress towards graduation. I gave each one of them have a sheet titled "What You Still Need." I reviewed with each of them and listed the courses that must be completed for graduation on this form. Please review this information with your child.
The last day of school for graduates is Friday, May 9th! It is imperative that your child is attending school everyday until they graduate. At the time of release of this newsletter, there are only 38 days of school remaining for seniors! Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
Attention Early Dismissal Students!
Students, as you face the opportunity of an early dismissal, consider this a chance to invest a little extra time in your academic journey. Staying at school after your last class to work on your assignments with your teachers can be incredibly rewarding! This is your moment to clarify doubts, deepen your understanding, and enhance your skills. But mostly, it will get you closer to graduating! Remember, every minute spent collaborating with your teachers brings you closer to your goals. Embrace this opportunity to ask questions, explore new concepts, and build a stronger foundation for your future. Your hard work and dedication will pay off, so seize the day and make the most of this time!
Ask your teachers about staying after your last class.
Career Day!
This Thursday, March 13 from 9:00 AM to noon is our annual Career Day at EHS. The Endeavor Career Day focuses on what professions are the quickest for students to obtain a certification and begin working. As of now, we have presenters from the healthcare industry (Emergency Medical Services), the Texas Army National Guard (military careers) , diesel technician certification, electrical inspector, photography, San Jacinto College, car dealership, and more!
We highly recommend that no student miss out on the possibility of finding their career at this event. Please contact Ms. Jackson if you have any questions concerning Career Day.
ACT/SAT Info
What is the ACT/SAT test?
Both the SAT and the ACT are nationally administered, standardized tests that help schools evaluate your application and see how prepared you are for college courses. The SAT and ACT generally cover the same topics. Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT nor ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test than the other.
