Fremont MS Family Newsletter
Principal's Message
Good afternoon,
As spring approaches, students are deep into projects, testing prep, and new concepts. Consistent attendance helps keep them on track. Letβs finish the third quarter strong by making attendance a family focusβwhile still respecting our health guidelines for when a child needs rest and recovery.
Reminder that we do not have school on Thursday, March 5th due to Parent/Teacher Conferences and Friday, March 6th due to a Teacher Institute Day. School will resume on Monday, March 9th. Parent/Teacher Conferences are by appointment only. If you missed sign up for conferences, please reach out to your student's teachers. Grades will be posted to Teacherease for families on March 5th at 8:00 am.
Warm Regards,
Emily Loerakker
Fremont MS Principal

We Need Your Help - Only Two Weeks Left to Take the 5Essentials Survey!
Fremont School District 79 greatly values your feedback as it relates to your studentβs educational experience. Once again, the State of Illinois has partnered with 5Essentials to create a forum by which you can provide your input.
We need at least a 20% response rate in order to receive a report and our current response rate for Fremont Middle School is 8%.
If you have not already done so, we would greatly appreciate it if you would take the brief survey by visiting:
http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/
Your responses are vital for continuous improvement and long-range planning for your child's school. Parents are welcome to answer the survey for each of their childrenβs schools.
The deadline to complete the survey is March 13, 2026.

8th-grade Graduation Gown Ordering - March 2nd Deadline!

Please fill out the following form with your graduateβs information. This is required by Jostens and will ensure the appropriate size is ordered for each student. We ask that this be completed by Monday, March 2.
The 8th-grade graduation ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the College of Lake County Physical Education Center. Wednesday, June 3 will also be the last day of school for all 8th-graders and will be a full day of school.
More information regarding graduation, including student speaker opportunities, admission tickets, and the 8th-grade dance will be shared in the coming weeks/months. Look at the Fremont Family Newsletter for updates. Students can also access information from the Class of 2026 Google Classroom. Important 6th grade Information
6th grade currently utilizes a homework document for students, which allows students and their families to check for daily assignments/ projects/ assessments. After Spring Break, the 6th grade team will no longer utilize this document. Seventh and eighth grades do not use a homework document. In trimester 3, we will shift our focus toward helping students strengthen their executive functioning skills so that they no longer need to rely on this tool. Our goal is to ensure students feel confident and prepared to independently track and complete their work as they transition to seventh grade.
