Panorama Student Survey Panorama Student Survey

Dear Mountain Range Families,

I am writing to share information with you about Panorama, a voluntary survey that students in grades 3-12 complete once in the fall and once in the spring. This email has specific information about the version of this survey being conducted this fall.

Mountain Range students will receive the survey on September 10th during 3rd period Continue reading for information about what is on the survey, who can see your student’s answers, how we use this information, and what to do if you do not want your child to participate in this voluntary survey.

What does the survey ask?

This survey asks questions about:

  • How well students think they are able to persevere through setbacks to achieve their goals

  • How well students believe they can manage their emotions

  • How confident students are in their ability to succeed in school

  • How students feel about their school’s social and learning environment

  • How valued students feel in their school community

If you want to see the exact questions in the survey, please click the following links:

  • Questions for grades 3-5 + School Environment (en español + School Environment)

  • Questions for grades 6-12 + School Environment (en español + School Environment)

Who can see my child’s responses?

A small number of staff members will be able to view students' answers. Over the course of the school year, these staff members may review this information to help them better serve students as they interact with them as part of their normal work (i.e. counselor check-ins with students in ninth grade).

The staff members who will be able to see students’ answers are:

  • District administrators

  • School administrators

  • School counselors

  • Mental health providers

  • Social emotional learning specialists

  • Your child’s teacher(s)

If you want to see your child’s responses on this survey, please contact our school mental health team or school counseling team. They can be reached at 720-972-6320.

How will you use this information?

We will use responses to this survey to explore trends and patterns across our school that will inform how we approach social and emotional wellbeing for all students.

Specific student answers will help us better serve students as part of our support and check-in processes. For example, all sixth grade students have a check-in with their counselor to help make sure they are transitioning successfully from elementary to middle school. Their counselor might look at this information and use it to guide their conversations.

Opt out information

If you do not want your child to complete this survey, please complete the opt out form attached to this email.

English: MRHS Panorama Opt Out Form - EN.pdf

Spanish: MRHS Panorama Opt Out Form - SP.pdf

Thank you for your participation in this survey. We are excited to learn more about the social-emotional needs of our students in order to provide them with the best possible educational experience.

Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions at: 720-972-6307

Sincerely,

Mrs. Tiffany Hansen

Volunteer to be a DECA Judge! Volunteer to be a DECA Judge!

Mountain Range High School DECA is looking for parent, family, and community volunteers to serve as judges at our upcoming DECA conferences.

DECA is a nonprofit organization that prepares high school students for college and careers by developing their leadership, communication, and professional skills. Our student competitors are tomorrow’s leaders, and your time and feedback can make a meaningful difference in their experience.

We will be hosting conferences on:

• October 6
• October 7
• November 20

Volunteers can sign up to judge for one day or multiple days. No previous DECA experience is required, and training is provided for all judges. We anticipate that more than 500 students will attend each conference, and we need at least 35 judges per conference to make these events successful.

If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up using the form below:

Student ID Required to Board Bus Student ID Required to Board Bus

Student IDs are required for every high school student for every ride as school bus passes are incorporated into the student ID. Since all students are required to scan their bus pass for each ride, students without a student ID will not be allowed on the bus.

If students have lost their ID, they may visit Student Relations for a replacement ID. Students are given one free ID and allowed 2 free replacements for lost IDs. Subsequent replacements are $5. Fines are added to student accounts automatically.

Reminders on the District’s Attendance Policy Reminders on the District’s Attendance Policy

Here are a few helpful reminders on the District’s Attendance Policy:

  1. Absences need to be excused within 2 school days. This does not count the weekend.

  2. Students may be excused for 5 days without a doctor's documentation. This includes vacations, “no reason given”, mental health day, family reasons, weather, and road conditions, along with other reasons. This year, the district has made an exception to allow absences for covid related symptoms. They do ask students to stay home if they are not feeling well. Therefore, these absences will be excused.

  3. Remember that any time your student has a doctor’s appointment of any kind, have the doctor give them a note to excuse that absence. Have your student bring that note to the attendance clerk in Student Relations when they return to school.

  4. Anytime you know in advance that your student will not be in attendance for 3 days or more, there is a “Request for Pre-arranged Absence” form. This may be picked up in Student Relations or the main office. This form is to be filled out by a guardian and signed. It is then taken around to all the teachers to sign and given to the main office staff. This form is then approved by an Assistant Principal and entered into Infinite Campus. These absences do not count toward the 5 days allowed without a doctor note.

  5. To get your student out early, the call must be made to the early release line prior to 2:30 pm. We will not be able to get a student out of class for walk-up parents/guardians past 2:45 pm.

Call our attendance line at 720-972-6400 to leave a message 24 hours a day.
