Students are NOT allowed to ride a bus they are not assigned to and requests to alternative address(es) will not be honored - no exceptions. Bus routes have reached, or are close to reaching, maximum capacity.

All stops are estimated times of arrival.

Students should be out at their stop at least five minutes before the scheduled time of arrival.

All students need to be in plain sight to ensure proper pick-up. The bus should not be expected to stop and honk if you are not visible. Please be out before the bus arrives.

Times could change due to traffic, weather, train crossings, students riding or not riding, etc.

For safety and security reasons, adults are not permitted to board the school bus, as it is considered school property.

Seat assignments on the bus are determined by the bus driver’s discretion to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

Have You Ever Thought About Serving on the Maple Run School Board? Have You Ever Thought About Serving on the Maple Run School Board?

If you care about our schools, our community, and the future of local education, serving on the Maple Run Unified School District School Board is a meaningful way to make a difference. Board members help ensure all students have access to a rigorous, safe, and meaningful education and support a welcoming environment where students and families can thrive.

In 2026, three school board seats are up for election:

  • 1 City seat

  • 2 Town seats

You do not need prior board experience to run. Many board members begin simply because they care about students, want to support educators, and believe in strong public schools. Serving on the school board offers a chance to:

  • Help ensure all students receive equitable access to high-quality learning

  • Represent community values in important district decisions

  • Learn more about how our schools operate and how public resources are used

  • Work collaboratively with fellow community members on issues that matter

While school boards face real challenges—changing enrollment, rising costs, and growing student needs—this work also offers the opportunity to positively shape our schools and support the joy, curiosity, and growth of students and families across Maple Run.

How to Run:

Candidates must complete:

  • a Nominating Petition

  • a Consent of Candidate Form

Forms are available through the Vermont Secretary of State’s website or your Municipal Clerk’s Office.

Deadline:
All forms must be filed with the municipal clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Petition Requirements:

  • At least 60 valid signatures

  • Signatures must be from registered voters

  • Voters from Saint Albans City, Saint Albans Town, and Fairfield may sign

If you’ve ever wondered whether your voice and perspective are needed, the answer is yes. Community-based leadership is essential, and first-time candidates are encouraged to step forward.

Winter Spectator Reminder Winter Spectator Reminder

Greetings.

As we move further into our winter sports season, we are incredibly grateful for the energy and passion you bring to every game. Our student-athletes thrive when they feel the support of their community. To ensure we continue to provide the best possible environment for our players, we would like to share a few important reminders regarding spectator behavior and sportsmanship.

To ensure a positive environment for our students, please keep the following expectations in mind:

  • Positive Cheering Only: We encourage loud and passionate support for our players, provided it remains respectful and positive.

  • Respect the Officials: There is a critical shortage of officials across the state. Please refrain from criticizing or yelling at them so we can continue to staff our games.

  • Let Coaches Coach: Spectators should avoid "coaching from the stands." If questions regarding officiating arise, our coaches will handle them through the proper channels during the game.

  • Game Stoppage Policy: Please be aware that officials have the authority to stop or suspend a game if they encounter negative spectator interactions.

Thank you for helping us set a high standard for our students and representing SATEC with sportsmanship and pride.

We look forward to seeing everyone out supporting our athletes!
