What to do if a resident school is denying participation?

1. If you believe your student is eligible to participate and the school is not allowing the student to participate please contact MSHSAA 573.875.4880.

2. If you feel like you are not getting assistance please contact MOVA Executive Director Steve Richards via email. srichards@k12.com

Credit for coursework

If your student needs to take a course to participate in the activity they may do so. An example of a situation like that could be a student wants to be in marching band. The school may require the student take band class. The student must remain a full-time student at MOVA, but can also take the required corresponding course at the resident school. If the student would like credit for that course, upon completion they can submit a transcript from the resident school that reflects the completed course and grade. MOVA will then transfer that grade to the student's MOVA transcript. Please submit with explanation to movaoffice@missouriva.org.

Please note

1. Resident school districts and MSHSAA determine sport/activity eligibility.

2. The student, parent, and/or Learning Coach are responsible for reporting grades on the required time table from the resident school.

3. MOVA cannot deny participation in a MSHSAA activity.

4. All MOVA policies described in the MOVA Parent/Student Handbook still pertain to all full-time enrolled students.

5. All MOVA students participating at their resident schools in MSHSAA sports/activities will remain a full-time student at MOVA during the time of participation.
