Principal's Message
Dear Families,
I hope you are having a wonderful week. I want to thank all of the families and staff who were able to attend and support Art from the Heart, the PTO Auction. All of the monies raised go back to programs and initiatives that directly support our students and staff. A very special thank you to the event organizers for their time and dedication: Candace Jones-Boynton, Stephanie Cho, Amber Womble, Hannah McLean, Julie Stanton, Nydia Almond, and Lauren Elliott. We will share a final auction wrap-up next week.
Have a great weekend,
Principal Garland

Family Night Details
Join us for our spring Family Night on Monday, March 16, from 6:00-7:00 p.m.!
Engage in a fun and informative classroom experience for the whole family. Each teacher is planning an activity that is unique and meaningful to their classroom community and provides a glimpse into a day in the life of a College Heights student. The Little Shop of Stories Spring Book Fair will also be open on Family Night and all week long.
This year, the schedule will be a little different to accommodate the needs of our families.
6:00p-6:25p Parent Engagement Session 1
6:30p-6:55p Parent Engagement Session 2
6:55p -7:00p Good-byes and Wrap-Up!
Teachers will plan one engagement experience that will be repeated at both session times, which will provide flexibility for family schedules and will also ensure the book fair doesn't get overwhelmed at any given time.
We hope you can join us!
Book Fair! Book Fair! Book Fair!
SAVE THE DATE for the Spring Book Fair: March 16-20. Our partner this spring is Little Shop of Stories, which returns a portion of book fair sales to College Heights to support early literacy programs.
We need volunteers on Monday, March 16 to help with Pre-K wish lists; please sign up here if you are able.
Library News
Pre-K students were so excited to check out books to bring home this week. To prepare ourselves for this occasion, we skipped the read-aloud and instead played a fun game called "No, No, Never!" to remind everyone how to properly care for library books when they are at home.
Please help your Pre-K student remember to send their book back on Monday, March 9 so they can check out a new one. I will send a text and email reminder every Sunday evening to help jog your memory, but you might also consider setting a reminder on your phone or home smart speaker.
Books read with one-, two-, and three-year-old classes this week:
A Dog Needs a Bone by Audrey Wood
Oh Dear, Look What I Got! by Michael Rosen, illustrated by Helen Oxenbury (the famed duo from We're Going on a Bear Hunt)
Dragon Noodle Party by Ying Chang Compestine, illustrated by Paula Pang
Amy Wu and the Perfect Bao by Kat Zhang, illustrated by Charlene Chua
Sam and Dave Dig a Hole by Mac Barnett, illustrated by Jon Klassen
A Pocket Full of Rocks by Kristin Mahoney, illustrated by E.B. Goodale (we all loved this one!)
