This is the third student from Roslyn High School to be recognized by the contest, which garners more than 4,000 applicants from throughout the country, recognizing only 60 high school students.
Sydney's original audio narrative, "The History Around Us: The Underground Railroad on Long Island," synthesized original interviews and academic research to piece together Long Island's fragmented past with the Underground Railroad.

"Sydney went to great lengths to put together a polished narrative and meet the deadline,” said her teacher, Mr. Vogt.” The award is well-deserved and a great reflection of her hard work, insight, and willingness to learn."

Members of the local community can donate to the pantry via Venmo @RHS-PFA, or use the QR code included here.

School Board Recognition Week!

At the BOE meeting on Thursday, October 10th, the CCPA and PFA presented a beautiful cake to show their appreciation to the members of the Roslyn School District Board of Education. School Board Recognition Week was established to recognize school board members for their commitment to New York public school children. It's an opportunity to raise community awareness and understanding of the crucial role school board members have within a school district. While recognizing school board member service should be a year-round endeavor, designating one week to highlight these volunteers’ efforts ensures they receive some of the thanks they deserve!
