Dear River Mill Families,

Last night, we had the joy of welcoming the Class of 2038 at our Kindergarten Connection event! The excitement and anticipation for kindergarten begins well before the first day of school, and it was heartwarming to see so many families ready to take that first step. We’re so grateful to all the families who were able to attend, and to our incredible staff who stayed to greet and support our newest Timbers—it truly made the evening special.

If you know of a family who is new to the area or has a child who will be entering kindergarten, please help us spread the word by directing them to the district website to register. We can’t wait to welcome even more future Timbers!

River Mill Elementary is excited to offer our sixth annual school-wide career fair. The career fair is scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, June 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

We are looking for presenters who are eager to share their career paths with students. As you know, one of our priorities at River Mill Elementary School is to equip every student with the skills necessary to become competent, resourceful, and successful. In order to support this goal we are requesting that our presenters share the following information:

  • How do you use reading, writing, and math skills (or other school subjects) on your job?

  • How do you use technology in your career field?

  • What type of education and training is needed for advancement into the career area?

  • Describe your job duties.

  • Describe a typical work day.

  • What talents and skills are necessary for success in your career field?

  • What personal traits are helpful in your career?

Each presenter will deliver 4-7 presentations for approximately 20 minutes each as they rotate to different classrooms. If you are willing to be a presenter, use the link below to complete the form.

At River Mill, we want to ensure every student has the best opportunity to learn and grow each day. Recently, we’ve noticed an increase in tardies and early pick-ups, and we want to remind families how important it is for students to be at school on time and stay for the full day. Arriving late can cause students to miss important instruction, while leaving early means they may not get the full benefit of their learning time. Every minute in the classroom matters! We understand that occasional appointments and emergencies happen, but whenever possible, please schedule these outside of school hours. Thank you for your support in making sure your child gets the most out of their school day!

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Did you know that many of our youngest students miss about 10% of the school year—around 14 days, or just two days a month? This level of chronic absenteeism in elementary school can predict lower test scores and challenges with retention in later grades. Every day and every minute of school matters, contributing to your child's growth and success! Please help us support your child's learning by ensuring they attend school every day and arrive on time. Thank you for partnering with us to build strong habits for lifelong learning!

Time to Order Your Yearbook!

If you plan to order a yearbook for your student this year, you can purchase those at buytheyearbook.com or with exact cash or check in the office.
