I wanted to take a moment to extend our warmest wishes and heartfelt gratitude to all the incredible moms, grandmothers, and mother-figures in our school community. Your love and unwavering support play a vital role in the lives of our students. Whether you're helping with homework, cheering from the sidelines at sports events, packing lunches, or simply offering a listening ear, your presence and guidance is invaluable.
We recognize and appreciate the countless sacrifices you make each day to ensure the happiness and well-being of your children and families. On this special day, may you be celebrated for the amazing individuals you are. Thank you for all that you do, today and every day. Cell Phones and Smart Watches
From the Elementary Handbook:
During the school day, cell phones must be off and away, stored in a student’s cubby or book bag, unless they are necessary for medical reasons. When a smartwatch is deemed to be a distraction to the learning environment, it must be removed and stored in the cubby or book bag. The goal of these rules is to avoid distractions and maximize learning.
All devices should remain in students' backpacks while on the bus.
Safety Drills/Standard Response Protocols
Ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and our school community is a top priority.
It is important that students learn how to be safe in various situations. Each month we conduct fire drills (evacuation drills), in late fall we practiced all of our standard response protocols. During the spring we will continue reviewing and practicing all of our drills--Hold, Secure, Shelter, Lockdown, and Evacuation safety drills. Student friendly and age-appropriate language is used. For more information about our emergency preparedness, please visit https://iloveuguys.org/The-Standard- Response-Protocol.html
May is Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness and Physical Fitness & Sports Month! PVSD is thrilled to celebrate health and wellness within our community, with families, and students. We will be participating in a Green Light Campaign, lighting the way for health and wellness.
During the month of May, we will be engaging in a calendar wellness challenge that focuses on physical and mental wellness. For more information, click here!
