Announcements October 26-30
YAY! Book reports came in today! There were only a few missing. Be sure to see them in the front of the school after we report them in class! They are amazing! I'm so proud of each and every one of them!
We have math homework Monday-Thursday don't forget. Friday is a fun day that starts with the parade and Halloween Math and Literacy. It ends with our party. We have 5 parents who volunteered. I hate turning any parents away for a party. But our room is pretty small. If you have a background check and just really really wanted to help please let me know. Sending in a small treat is always a way to participate.
The parade starts pretty quickly after the first bell. So come and join the fun and line the fence in the playground.
October 30th will be the Halloween Party. Thank you in advance for volunteering. This is such a fun day! Next week you will see a sign-up genius link and schedule.

Literacy: October 2026
Book Reports: DUE October 26th.
We have started our animal unit in CKLA! We are researching and observing while writing about all of it! We are thinking about the "jobs" of all the words so that we can become better writers. ie: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, etc. We are continuing to practice phonograms to become better spellers. We are practicing our fluency and building vocabulary. This unit will give us some background knowledge and help us understand the purpose of nonfiction text.
95 % group/Spelling
95% group is our phonics/phonemic Awareness program. Each week we will have a specific phonogram we are working to master. The spelling words will reflect these words. See disclosure for more information!
Math!
I-Ready Math Requirements:
Look in B folder for Math Homework! Homework will come home Monday for the week. Look for it on Mondays.
Unit 2: Understanding Multiplication
Okay so I get it, we all learned how to multiply by memorizing facts, but it is much more than that. We need to make sure our children understand the when, the why, the how it all works.
Along with that we will be memorizing the math facts and passing them off! Automaticity is so important. Look for fact pages coming home to practice. Although I will be timing your students I am aware that this can cause some anxiety. Improvement is all we ask!
The zero property: anything times zero is zero. (0 groups of 10 is just 0
identity property of Multiplication: 1X any number is that number (1X499 =499)
