Madeira Elementary
Where learning is personalized and success is ensured.
March 15th, 2025
Hello MES Families,
Wow what a March it has been! The weather sure helped kick us all into spring-gear fast. Thank you so so much to all of you that helped make the Changing Hands Sale a super success! The transformation from school to department store and then back again is mesmerizing and it takes so many hands for it to work. Your efforts are noticed and so appreciated!
This past week was yet another great example of what the PTO can do to support the school. GotArt? Experiences were kicked off for many of our grades! Kindergarten and 1st graders were captivated by a fairy tale puppet show. Our 2nd graders ventured over to the high school auditorium for an energetic steel drum band performance. The 4th and 5th graders light up as they heard the sounds of opera during a very engaging performance. Our 3rd graders will soon be venturing to the Cincinnati Art Museum for their immersive experience. It was a wonderful kick-off to the GotArt? Experiences at MES that our PTO sponsors. Thank you for your support with this partnership. The month of May will have our "Meet the Artist" days and more communication will be out asking for your help to make it another magical experience at MES!
This weekend is filled to the brim with Madeira magic from the dance Friday night, the auction Saturday, and Flanny Fest Sunday! I hope you are soaking up these activities and others to make the most of this time with your littles. They are quite awesome and make MES the best ever!
Monday is St. Patrick's day! Kids are welcome to wear anything festive or green! Please take a look below for some updates and info as we head toward spring break and beyond.
Take care,
Chandley

The second annual Flanny Fest is this Sunday, March 16 from 10 AM - 6 PM at the Madeira High School football stadium. Sponsored by the Madeira Youth Lacrosse organization, the event began last year to honor our beloved MES principal Chris Flanagan who we lost suddenly in 2023. Flanny Fest is a day of boys and girls youth lacrosse games, activities, Irish Dancers, raffles, and silent auctions. Money raised goes to the Madeira Schools Foundation’s Chris Flanagan Memorial Scholarship set to be awarded to a fun-loving, high energy senior who loves life and learning while being a friend to all - just like Chris. Food will be available at food trucks and a concession stand and limited edition 2nd Annual Flanny Fest shirt and Flanny Fest Winter Hat, as well as Madeira Lacrosse shirts and hats. For more please see Flanny Fest!
