Announcements & Reminders
Dear families,
WOW! What an amazing circus performance we had on Friday! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate students' efforts. The circus was a wonderful exploration of our character strength of courage, among others, and it was wonderful to see our learners do more than they might have previously thought possible. If you captured any quality photo or video, please email it to me (donaheya@hartfordschools.net) or to our P.E. teacher Kaleigh Rhoades (rhoadesk@hartfordschools.net). To learn more about Troy Wunderle's work, visit Wunderle's Big Top Adventures.
4th & 5th grade families, the week before break, we began distributing 2024 VTCAP score reports from the state assessment your child took last spring. These came home on paper in students' backpacks.
Finally, the first Ski Day/Winter Enrichment is Friday, January 10. More information will be sent directly to skiers the week of January 6.
The next Howler will also be Friday, January 10. Happy holidays, everyone!

Principal

Curiosity Corner
Notes from HSD's Equity Team
Week 14: Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Thank you for taking the time to read one or all of our Curiosity Corners about the HSD Gender Inclusivity Policy. When we return from the break, our Curiosity Corner will shift its focus to learning about the HSD Anti-Racism Policy. You’ll see that there are many overlaps between anti-racism and gender inclusivity work. It’s all about accepting people for who they are, learning as much as we can to best support them, and staying curious.
As we all prepare to embark on the holidays, here’s an LGBTQ+ Holiday message everyone needs to see. (3 minutes)
One of the best ways to continue growing in our understanding is to expose ourselves to stories with diverse representation. Let’s make this one of our New Year’s Resolutions! Here are some LGBTQ+ friendly movies and shows to enjoy as a family to get you started.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year!
