Paine 5th Graders Learn from NFL Player Malachi Moore
Paine Elementary 5th grade students participated in a meaningful learning experience during a visit from Malachi Moore, safety for the New York Jets.
Moore spoke with students about the importance of kindness, respect, and perseverance, connecting these traits to both academic success and personal growth. He also shared his journey to the NFL, emphasizing goal setting, hard work, and determination.
Students engaged in a question-and-answer session, practicing communication skills while gaining real-world insight into discipline, responsibility, and achieving long-term goals.
The "Bugz" are Buzzing at Cahaba!
Our kindergarteners did a fantastic job this week performing their musical, "Bugz". The students showcased their hard work during two wonderful shows—one for their fellow classmates and a special performance for family and friends. It was a joy to see our little ladybugs, bees, and butterflies take the stage with such confidence and enthusiasm!
We want to give a huge thank you to our music teacher, Mrs. Fortenberry, for her incredible work in putting this production together. Her dedication made this a truly memorable experience for the students and the audience alike. Congratulations to all our talented performers!
A Taste of Mexico in HTHS Spanish III Classes
Our Spanish 3 students recently transformed the classroom into their very own bustling taquerías. This hands-on project challenged students to master the art of the authentic Mexican taco—from carne asada and al pastor to birria and carnitas.
Beyond the cooking, students took on the roles of both chefs and servers, practicing their fluency by taking orders and communicating entirely in Spanish. Having recently mastered the command form, they particularly enjoyed stepping into leadership roles, directing their "employees" with phrases like, “¡Hazlos sin cilantro!” (Make them without cilantro!). It was a delicious week of immersion that left these hungry high schoolers with full hearts and even fuller stomachs!
Join us for the TCS GaTE Innovator Museum as we celebrate our young creators, thinkers, and dreamers! Students will display their innovation projects from this year.
