Hello Cimarron Families
& Future Panthers with our Rising 6th Gr. Young Scholars!

Oklahoma School Testing Program (OSTP)

This week (April 29-May 2) at Cimarron, we tackle the OSTP! Bring your charged Chromebook, a pencil, and your A-game. Get enough sleep, fuel up with healthy meals, and remember – you've got this! Teachers are here to cheer you on. Let's conquer those tests!

EPS Annual Update

Remember! The annual update for the 2024-25 school year at Cimarron Middle School is now open. Completing this update now helps ensure your student's class schedule requests are considered. It's a two-step process: this update and then submitting your August or July (not June) utility bills to verify residency. Why Cimarron? We're a thriving school community, and your contribution to this annual process helps us keep it that way!

Wed., May 1st: EMHS Hosts Annual Physical Night for OSSAA Activities

Here's a message for current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Cimarron Middle School about the upcoming Pre-Participation Physicals:

Heads Up, Athletes! Pre-Participation Physicals This Year

Calling all current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders interested in playing sports this year!

Join us for the annual Pre-Participation Physicals:

  • Date: Wednesday, May 1st
  • Time: 6:00 PM
  • Location: EMHS (Edmond Memorial High School)

Save Time by Prepping:

  • Download and print the OSSAA Pre-Participation Physical Packet beforehand.
  • Complete pages 1, 2, and 4 of the packet to expedite the process at the event.

Can't print? We'll have extra copies available that evening.

Why Participate?

  • This physical is required to participate in athletics starting June 2024.
  • The $20 fee supports our student-athletes and is often less expensive than a doctor's visit.

Get Ready for a Great Sports Season!

Thur., May 2nd: 5th Grade Family Orientation Night

Calling all future Cimarron Middle School families! Join us this Thursday in the Main Gym for a Welcome Night!

Here's the schedule:

  • 5:45 PM: Meet community partners - (questions: Ms. Kathryn Lambert) and explore the gym, which will be getting a fresh coat of paint; please pardon our progress!
  • 6:30 PM: Meet your child's future educators, learn about our Cimarron Parent Teacher Organization (CPTO).
  • 6:30 PM onwards: Tour the school at your own pace, visit the orchestra to see instruments, and continue exploring community partner booths.

The event wraps up at 7:45 PM.

In Case You Missed It...

Get ready to hear some excited roars because I'm thrilled to introduce you to Mr. Kyle Harrison, our new Lead Panther! Why We're Roaring with Excitement: Mr. Harrison's bringing a wealth of experience and a purposeful passion for education that will truly energize our school. He's dedicated to creating a positive and nurturing environment where all our young scholars can thrive. I know he'll be a strong champion for your young scholars' success, and I can hardly wait to see them grow together!

Let's Welcome Mr. Harrison! Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Mr. Harrison as he joins the Cimarron community. With Mr. Harrison's leadership and your continued support, I'm excited to see and hear what amazing things you will achieve together.

Sincerely,

Gabe Schmidt

Hello From Our New Lead Panther! Hello From Our New Lead Panther!

Hello Panther Family!

I wanted to take a brief moment to introduce myself. My name is Kyle Harrison and I am ECSTATIC to be the incoming principal at Cimarron! Some of you I already know if your child attended Orvis Risner. I am coming to Cimarron having served as the principal at Orvis Risner over the last 3 years. Previous to that, I was the assistant principal at Northern Hills Elementary for 2 years, along with 6 years of administrative experience at a previous school district.

I view relationships and connections as a huge piece of the success of a school. As a new member of the Panther Family, I look forward to getting to know our students, staff, and their families, and renewing relationships with those I'm already familiar with.

I look forward to supporting our staff and students each day to help them all experience success at the highest levels. I hope you have a great end to the 23-24 school year. I will see you soon!

Mr. Kyle Harrison
