Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!
What a great start to the new school year! Today, we were excited to welcome our upperclassmen back to Westfield High School. Students had the opportunity to walk their schedules, get their school pictures taken, and touch base with their counselors as they prepare for another great year.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 11, we look forward to welcoming our freshmen and new students to campus!
Freshmen and New Student Families: We encourage you to watch the video linked here and peruse the slideshow linked here to help you prepare for your visit to WHS.
Incoming freshmen from Westfield Middle School: Don’t forget to bring the following items with you tomorrow to turn in:
- Chromebook
- Chromebook case
- Chromebook charger
You will turn in your current Chromebook and accessories and receive a new WHS Chromebook.
New students to WHS: You will also pick up your WHS Chromebook tomorrow.
We can’t wait to see you, welcome you to WHS, and get the 2026–2027 school year underway!
New Bell-to-Bell Wireless Device Expectations
In compliance with Indiana state law, Westfield High School is implementing bell-to-bell expectations for personal wireless communication devices during the school day. Students may bring devices to school, but they must be powered off and stored away from the first bell until the final bell, including passing periods and lunch.
We have created a detailed one-page guide outlining what devices are included, daily expectations, and consequences for non-compliance. Please review the ONE PAGER here to help support a smooth transition and ensure we are all working together to create the best learning environment for our Shamrocks.

TalkingPoints-Family Communication
Westfield Washington Schools use a program called TalkingPoints to communicate with families! TalkingPoints allows for seamless multilingual two-way communication between teachers and families. Families can choose to receive messages via SMS text messaging or through the free FAMILIES | TalkingPoints mobile app for Apple or Android.
This platform has enhanced translation capabilities, so families can receive and send messages in their preferred language. Additional tools like speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and closed captioned videos make this program accessible to all of our Westfield families.
The most important thing you can do to ensure you are receiving messages from your child’s teacher is to make sure your contact information for the “Father” and “Mother” fields in PowerSchool is correct. When a teacher sends out a message, TalkingPoints will automatically use those two phone numbers. If you’d like to add additional contacts, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
