Our St. John family would be honored by the presence of our veterans at our Veterans Day celebration. This is a way for us to show gratitude for their service to our nation and Lord. We will have a special part of our morning set aside on Wednesday, November 11, starting at 8:20am. If you have a friend or relative who you know would like to join us, please invite them and share the link listed below. This will help us in our planning. We would love to have veterans join us!

We will begin our celebration with the Lord during our chapel service, thanking God for all who have served and continue to serve our country. After the service, we will join in singing our National Anthem, and then go outside to raise the flag and honor our country as recite the Pledge of Allegience. Immediately following, brunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall for veterans, active service members, and their families.

If you are a veteran who would be able to join us, or if you know of a veteran whom you would like to invite, please RSVP via this link by Friday, November 7, or call the school office at 847.362.4424.

Read-A-Thon Update: We're Off to a Great Start. Let's Keep the Pages Turning!

Our Fall Read-A-Thon is in full swing, and there's still plenty of time to join the fun! With just over 3 weeks remaining before the fundraiser ends on November 30, we're encouraging every student to log their reading minutes and share their 99Pledges page with family and friends. Every minute read and every donation helps support the Parent-Teacher Partnership and brings us closer to our goal of $7,000 and some exciting school-wide rewards!

How to Participate

  • Log reading minutes throughout the month
  • Share your student's personalized 99Pledges page
  • Help us unlock fun rewards for the entire school

School-Wide Incentive Goals

$4,000 Goal - Sweet Treat Day
Mystery Reader Fun

$5,000 Goal - Pajama Day
Campout Reading Day featuring blankets, flashlights, reading stations, and snacks

$6,000 Goal - Every student receives a $10 Book Fair Coupon

$7,000 Goal - Duct Tape Mr. Curtis to the Wall!

Plus a fun afternoon of board games, trivia, charades, and more!

A Little Reading Goes a Long Way

Whether your student reads for 10 minutes or 100 minutes, every page counts. Family, friends, grandparents, neighbors, and coworkers are all great supporters to share fundraising pages with.

Let's work together to make these final weeks count and unlock some amazing rewards for our students!

Keep reading, keep logging those minutes, and let's finish strong by November 30!

Haven't activated your reader's page yet? No problem! If you need a new invitation, help accessing your student's 99Pledges page, or assistance getting started, contact Mary-Ann Penaloza at 414-313-3636 or mlince14@gmail.com. We're happy to help get your reader on the path to reaching their goals!

We have a tentative basketball schedule for practices and games. The practices are set and will be at North Star Classical Christian School from 3:30 - 5:00pm

  • Wednesday, Nov. 11th - Practice
  • Thursday, Nov. 12th - Practice
  • Wednesday, Nov. 18th - Practice

Find those uniforms and warm-up shirts from last year. Please have your child try them on and make sure they fit. If you have a uniform from a sibling that we can borrow for the basketball season, please bring it to Mrs. Rockwell. We don't have a lot of new players and would like to try not to order any new uniforms this year. Mrs. Rockwell also has a couple of extras.

Please be sure to make ride arrangements to get your child to North Star for practices.

Our first trimester of school will be coming to an end next Friday, November 13. That means that it is a great time to officially check in and see how the school year is going for each of our students. The teachers have already been reaching out to contact parents and set up conference times. Those conferences will occur throughout the next two weeks. It will be a great time to hear from your child's teacher about the progress being made. You can hear about areas where your child is doing well and can continue on a productive path. It's also a good time to notice any areas where improvement can be made as we progress through the school year. This is also a good time to share your input with the teacher. It's always good to get your feedback on strengths and weaknesses that you may notice so that everyone can continue working together for a solid, Christian education. God's blessings as you meet with your child's teacher!
